If Auburn can be good at basketball..

So can Clemson. Auburn is traditionally known as a football school and does not have the best history or tradition when it comes to basketball. All it takes is a coach with life and and energy who knows how to recruit and to coach efficiently. I like Brownell as a person but he just isn’t a program builder. Our program has stayed below average in the ACC the last 12 years and there has been no growth. Brownell has only made the NCAA tournament 3 times in 12 years. Tonight was the last straw too. Calling a timeout with 6 seconds left when they’re inbounding just makes no sense. Time to move on.

Bad reference to use as an argument. Bruce Pearl us there. I would be Alabama. Arkansas, Tennesse, and Florida more from the SEC. Alabama and Arkansas New coaches the last few years have really turned their program around.
Also Texas Tech, Baylor, and Oklahoma have good bkball programs.

Bruce Pearl is a great example to use. Auburn sucked before he went in and fixed their program. It took him 3 years but now Auburn is making the Tournament consistently. Now I’m not saying we’ll go out and be at Auburn’s level, but the way Clemson has blossomed, we should make the NCAA tournament just about every year or at least the NIT.

Yeah to be honest I’d take Football too. But It would just be nice to have something to cheer for during the winter time if you know what I mean.

Impossible at Clemson.

There are a million excuses, and a lot of people are fully invested in those excuses, and they are not going to let go of them. They would much rather sit back, employ those excuses and remain mired in mediocrity, than entertain the possibility of being better. I guess the possibility of failure is just too painful for these people, so it's easier to convince themselves that being the only founding member of the ACC to never win the ACC Tournament after 68 years is "not that bad" and that finishing the season in 10th place and losing in the conference tournament in the 2nd round to the #7 seed is a "great season" and that after 12 years of averaging an 8th place finish in conference and never finishing above 3rd place (once) the coach should be brought back for more of the same. So they jsut tell themselves that it's impossible to do better at Clemson.

Bruce Pearl does not follow recruiting rules. Large part of his success.
We need to appreciate that high quality, super smart at their sport and at working with young men and women, are rare. How many men are on same step as Dabo, Mike Noonan and Larry Penley? National champions. John Rittman May join that group in next couple years. No women coaches - they are even more rare
If our administration has identified coaches who could take both our basketball programs to next level, and who have already agreed to come - great - bring them on.
Otherwise time for Graham to sit down with both coaches to see what’s needed. Injuries are critical and have hurt our women’s team. Who you recruiting- what are their habits? Women’s basketball losing two scholarship players early in season because of unwillingness to conform - didn’t see that coming?
We should get better. It was fun to watch team last two weeks. Women’s bball not much fun at all this year.

Everybody has probably had a recruiting violation at some point. It’s just a matter who gets caught. I’m just being brutally honest.
