Looked better than it did in the 90's IMO.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

And yes, high five and a point for Hardees fried chicken. Their hot dogs were pretty darn good too.

I lived up Oak Street behind the Esso Club

at Royal Oaks Apts, name is changed but they are still there.

Ate are that Hardees so much, I swore off their burgers for life. I have eaten one since I left Clemson and hated it.

But, a poor college student could eat there and Taco Tico on very little funds.

When I lived there it was oakcrest. Now it's Oakcreste!

was there any plans for the wood from the trees being removed?-similar to the Douthet Hills re-use? I'd like a shot at salvaging some of it for my woodworking projects.

Is this some photoshop to make us think the lot

1

Jan 5, 2023, 4:35 PM

5 trees weren't as old as we thought?

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I remember when they planted the trees in Lot 5

1

Jan 5, 2023, 6:13 PM

around 1983-ish. My family tailgate was in that lot at the time.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did they bring in already giant trees or did they just grow

1

Jan 6, 2023, 8:01 AM

really fast?

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

they were small, doesn't take long for them to get big

1

Jan 6, 2023, 9:05 AM

here is Lot 5 in 1983 (the huge balloon release), a c/p of the video. Can't really tell if the trees had been planted here and are really small or not.

It may have been 84 when they got planted. They were maybe 10' tall, 6" diameter when planted.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

While still annoyed that they got cut down, I'm

1

Jan 6, 2023, 9:13 AM

a bit less annoyed knowing they weren't extremely old trees that a parking lot was built around.

So many buildings had names associated with slavery back then. I can't bear to look at it. :)
