Maybe some might disagree with this, but there should be 32 teams seeded, not just 16. Trying to keep the regionals comprised of teams in that region is flawed, at least for the 2nd best team in the region.

For example, Clemson softball got sent to #3 Alabama in 2021. Clemson had an argument to host, so no way should they be penalized just to keep regional match-ups.

I’ve always said this. I get so tired of seeing national seeds get tougher draws than let’s say a 10 seed. The top national seed should get the worst 2 seed. The #16 seed should get the best 2 seed. Unfortunately for geographical reasons it doesn’t work this way and it’s wrong

And regionalize teams makes for unfair matchups all the time. It happens every year in the tennis tournament to. Very frustrating

But, the dumb thing is it would only effect 16 teams travel

Seeding 1-32 assures that the seasons teams have are equally rewarded.

My other fix would be to re-seed for the supers. That needs to be fixed regardless of my 1st suggestion. Hosting the supers are huge, and a 9-seed shouldn't have to go on the road to the 8-seed while un-seeded team host.
