Conferences in March Madness

Listing these by number of teams to make the tourney...

Big 10 - 8 teams in, Record is 9-8...Yes, all eight teams are out!

SEC - 6 teams in, record is 5-5, Arkansas still in!

Big 12 - 5 teams in, record 10-5, Kansas still in!

ACC - 5 teams in, record 11-2, UNC, Duke and Miami still in!!!

PAC - 3 teams in, record 4-3, all teams out!

Yes, 3 of the final 8 teams are ACC! Not bad for a conference everyone said was "down"!

Unless Arkansas wins the whole thing, of those 5 conferences, the SEC will have the worst record in the tourney!!! Obviously, they were as overrated as their football teams!

A couple of minor items.

The Big Ten had 9 teams (not 8) in the tournament. (Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, & Wisconsin).

The Big XII had 6 teams (not 5) in the tournament. (Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech). If the Big XII had 5 teams in and had 5 losses, they would have no teams left.
