Coaching Contracts

Whenever I've had a negotiation with a contractor, business, or individual, I've offered performance incentives. I'm pretty sure that Dabo's multi-millian $ contract has this feature. However, I've also made sure that there were performance consequences when performance did not meet the expected standard. For example, my contractor would get a bonus payment for every day that he finished the job earlier than agreed. However, the same daily amount would be subtracted from the contract for every day past the agreed-upon deadline. Do Dabo or any of our other coaches' contracts have any consequences for not meeting "the standard"?

He certainly did. He earned his incentives in each of those years. But what about the years that miss those lofty goals? Should it be just baseline salary and benefits (kind of hard to call them "baseline", but you get the idea). He's in the top 5% of coaches when it comes to salary/benefits. What do you think?

His contract had incentives based on reaching those goals, so he got less in the years that he didn't reach those goals.

Coach Swinney and his staff earned raises by working together to put the best product on the field at that time period. Fast forward Coach Swinney and his present staff are failing miserably on putting any type of winning product at Clemson.

I haven't either, but why not? It's still based upon performance/results.

No sports contract anywhere has a "minimum wins", "minimum passing yards", etc. built-in. No person would agree to that...it's not realistic.

Y'all need to quit counting other people's money; it's a tired, short sighted argument w/ class envy purposed as an emotional trigger. Just be happy we're not paying a belligerent racist $4 million a year to run a WBB program that consistently loses money EVERY year and that's w/o her $4 milion being tabulated-
