whole game turned on AE fumbling going into the endzone and them running the ball back for a touchdown. It crushed me, and I'm absolutely sure it crushed everybody on that team.

I think people have to start realizing the talent we're

putting on the field now when using youth as an excuse. When you start upgrading the talent like we have you go from having to develop talent to having talent ready to play. Of course youth and inexperience will always pop up from time to time, but for the most part these youngins are good enough to match even experienced teams. That's why the top teams don't rebuild, they reload. We're not 100% there, but we're d@mn close and we're at the point now where if we lose a game it's not going to be b/c of youth. Young or not, we're good enough to contend and compete with anyone and I expect us to not only be ready to play, but also to dominate.

Players who come straight out of high school ready to make an immediate impact and take over games (like Sammy Watkins) are very rare. The vast majority of players coming out of HS needs LOTS of development and seasoning to be dominant at the college level. Recruiting talent and coaching 'em up go absolutely hand in hand. Without one or the other, you ain't got chit. Without both, you got Ken Hatfield.

of the best players in the country, that is rare. We're not talking about that level, we're talking about being talented enough to be able to come in right away and out work your opponents. Doesn't mean they won't need to be coached and developed, they will. It's just that the talent factor you're starting with is much higher and you are able to compete much better even before you start getting coached.
Having that kind of talent is how you are able to continue playing at a high level year after year after year. Teams like USC, Oklahoma, Ohio St, LSU, etc, it's not like they're never young. Sometimes they are. It's just the talent level helps overcome that. I think we're getting to that point now and that's why we excelled last year playing so many freshmen and sophomores. These kids are much quicker on the learning curve and it shows.

The program has gotten better slowly and surely since bowden was hired...Dabo has taken kept with the progression and taken it up a notch.
But remember Auburn gets top 20 classes every year since i can remember, and they are consistently in the upper half of the SEC as far as winning % and quality of overall program. Auburn is no joke, they are a quality SEC program, and they return solid-experienced Line play, which is where success starts.
Weve played auburn 3 or 4 times over the past 10 yrs, and its always been a dogfight. Even last year, even though we won handily in the end, they kicked our tails in the first half...
If we can pull this one out, it tells me our line play can hold up enough to beat anyone on our schedule...just gotta find a way to win this one, and our green lines should improve over the course of the season.

just the first quarter. They jumped out real quick and then the last 3/4 of the game we outscored them 38-10 including a 21-7 2nd quarter. We gave ourselves fits to start out and made a couple adjustments and were fine.

Here's how and, yes, they will try to do this:
Aug 25, 2012, 10:51 PM

Key in safety, linebacker, and corner blitzes on the edges of our OL in attempt to get Tajh to pick up where he left off after the 8-0 start last year.
They will run trap, counter, trap, counter, play action to wear out our strong point of the DL (our DT's) and pick off our secondary.
They will punt close to the sidelines.
They will play zone coverage (with alternating blitzes) on first down, and man coverage on second and third down, while dialing up the occasional blitz.
They will play Dabo's post game rant from last year about a thousand times in the locker room before kickoff and they will be mad. They will remind the players that Dabo is an Alabama graduate.
Let's not fool ourselves Tiger Nation. This is going to be a very hard game and I honestly have no idea who will win. It is in Atlanta.

I'm willing to bet we put up 450+ total yards and 30+ points and quite frankly I don't think they can keep up with us. We'll know in less than a week though!

Although the Tigers will take over in the second half, the other Tigers will not lay down.I see a close game at the half, but CU will pull away and win by 2 TDs.

sky high (like us). They are just as talented as us and if they win turnover battle and kicking game, they win. I think we win a close one.
All the talent that no one has ever heard of that we have like Peake, Ford, Bryant, Anthony, Townsend, etc. Auburn has many of those also.

Don't forget two new OT.
I doubt they come out the first game running smoothly on offense. Remember our first game last year down 16-13 to Troy (who was 3-9 in '11) at halftime or losing to Wofford until halfway through the 3rd qtr. It wasn't until the 2nd qtr of the Auburn game that Morris's offense really got on track. And we had experienced guys on the line. They still have to score to win the game

The new DC was the same from UGA when that D was ranked in the top 10 every year. The new OC will be good as well. and its Auburn.. they recruit very well every year. But right now, you guys have the better team on paper. To be honest, an SEC type of defense is not the best test for BV for his first game. Too many new coachs to know how that game will go. But if i had to make a bet, I would say CU by 7.
