We need to trust the coaches as to why Feaster isn't playing

Oct 16, 2016, 8:56 AM

They have a lot more info on him based on what he does in practice than we do. Obviously they don't trust him in a tight game. This was a game where we clearly were gonna throw the ball a lot. If he isn't very good in pass protection yet, you can't put him in there. If he has shown that he has ball security issues in practice, you can't put him in there when the team has turnover issues as a whole.

Dabo has already had to strip him of his kickoff return duties. He really hasn't shown much on the field in any capacity besides mop up duty runs vs SC State and BC. I don't have a problem with him not playing because there has to be a reason why he's not..

Coaches said it and it makes total sense

We are not going to load up and ride a freshman running back to victory. We are going to put the game in the hands of the best QB we have ever had and take our chances. Feaster does not know his protections as well as the others, State was blitzing and rushing from all over the place and job #1 is protecting #4. Our coaches are smart and they played the percentages. And to those who say they can pretty much call our plays, you are wrong. You cannot

Agree. I don't understand why most people calling for Feaster don't get that the kid is a freshman and has a lot to learn before he can be thrown into the breach. Feaster will be a great running back in time but the few times he has played, he has been somewhat tentative (reason he is not returning kickoffs) and the game is a little fast for him right now. As good as a Gallman is at running the ball, he is probably the best blocking running back we have had in years. Feaster's time will come but he simply is not ready to fill Gallman's shoes right now.

This is a fan forum, ppl will disagree

Same disagreements 2 yrs ago when we heard dabo say cole stoudt was a better leader for the offense

If a freshman is good enough, and ppl in front not playing well, he cant lose anything by giving him a shot. If he truly thinks feaster is a substandard passblocker, then they can rotate and adjust accordingly atleast for 1 drive

1. The freshman argument it silly. James Davis AND #4 say Hi.

2. They should have redshirted him if we weren't gonna use him to win games.

3. My guess is in recruiting they promised not to redshirt him. :(

Point 3 is the only thing I can see unless coaches really thought he was going to come in and reignite the return game. I truly had very little expectations for him this year with all the backs in front of him. I wish he would have redshirted.
