Posters are always too far out over their skies. Fans loved Monte after his first season and wanted Dabo fired in the early going. While I think Bakich will be great we won’t know for sure until a few seasons have passed.

You are correct but I do like his attitude and seems to know the game very well. Monte won with Leggett's players as did Bakich with a good bit of Montes. It did not take long to figure out he did not coach fundamental baseball. The team consistently swung for the fences and struck out a lot. Not a formula for winning baseball. I’m hoping Bakich is the real deal. So far he seems fundamentally sound and that will win you a lot of games.

I agree for the most part. But I feel monte took over a much better team than Coach EB. Not saying Monte didn’t have talent on the team but they didn’t perform. Grice was a .230 hitter last year. He is a .300 this year. I feel we have committed less errors this year. Same team but better performance. Almost have to point out coaching as the reason why.

Early in the season
On a message board folks comment on the present situation and project forward. Early in the season when we were losing to crappy teams the situation was less than optimal. With the current winning streak and a championship, the outlook is very favorable. In both cases posters get ahead of themselves…

Exactly how many crappy teams did we lose to? We have the 6th hardest SOS and our worst losses on paper are to a team busted for cheating. Stick to basketball.

We saw the philosophy of the team change from the end of 2022 season til beginning of this season. Small ball( can we say “bunt?”) , even better defense and smart coaching. This team didnt show the defeated look that I saw last season. They kept fighting. 22 come from behind wins says a lot.

We were 4th in our division, 6th overall in the ACC in 2016. We were the sixth highest ranked team in the D1 poll in the ACC. We needed to win the ACC tourney to host that year. We would have been a national seed this season without winning the ACC tourney. There is no comparison between what has been accomplished these two seasons other than the obvious championship. If you’re going to interject about sports you don’t understand please stick to basketball. I’m sure it hurts seeing us successful.
