Let's face it, the women's titles really do not matter. Nothing against women's programs but they really do not move the needle much and they don't get ADs fired. So it is really 5 to 2. Our 5 is very low compared to many, like UCLA, etc. but still better than coots. Do a separate one for women, ok it is 0-2. Big whoop.

Than men's golf or even men's soccer.
And of course we have less than UCLA. There are some schools that have a crazy amount that you wouldn't think of. Like Arkansas and their 42 track and field. Oklahoma state has over 50 thanks to golf and wrestling.

Thanks for the info.
Based on that, it seems that the person in charge of the chickens' athletic program (I know it's their former baseball coach...the names escapes me) and their administration are trying to defy their life of sucking.
Their success has happened in recent years (2000s), and we've just had 1 national (football) in that same span.
When is our school leadership (the administration and AD) going to care about winning at the national level?
When are we going to stop reacting all the time instead of leading the way?
Sorry, DRad, you can't take credit for finding the football "diamond in the rough" in Dabo.

we do have a runner up in men's soccer plus 2 other final fours in that. Also our baseball team down to the final four teams on 3 occasions since 2000. women's tennis made a final four at one point.

I think this is a great post. You keep joking about bass fishing etc but if we're not careful, others will be laughing at us. It appalling to me that uga has more titles than us.
No, football IS the most treasured and important but we should have way more in other sports. They're becoming more important.
I'm not blaming the AD but I do think Dabo has opened eyes that maybe we should be looking bigger at all sports.

championship from the 40's/50's which, to my knowledge has never been fully attributed, was their only claim to fame until they won the baseball NC. But was ALWAYS mentioned by chickenfans after Clemson won the '81 national championship.
