Clemson-South Carolina game three

Clemson and South Carolina get underway in the rubber match at 1:30 here at Founders Park in Columbia.
The Tigers are seeking a seventh series win in the last nine.
Clemson is going with sophomore righty Billy Barlow (0-0, 0.00), who missed the first two weekends and logged one inning pitched last week. Barlow made 15 starts last season (2-4, 4.84 ERA).
Caden Grice is not in the lineup after being ejected late yesterday.

His average is a little better than last year. But his power is nonexistent this year. 0 home runs. Maybe that’s why his average is a little higher. Might would suit us better to move him to the 8 spot and tell him swing for the fences. Hope for the best!

Wimmer doubles to left-center with one out, but a popup on the infield for the second out. Messina singles on the first pitch up the middle to score the run and a 1-0 lead.

That was the first Gamecock half-inning that Clemson didn't walk a batter or hit one since the fourth yesterday in Greenville.

Yesterday was runs but collapse from bullpen
Today the pitching is holding as well as could hope but no run support. That don't change before next dip into the pen, could spell big-time trouble late

The Tigers are getting runners on, but they're not doing much with them. After a leadoff double, Clemson dropped to 1-12 hitting with runners on and 1-10 with a runner in scoring position today.

South Carolina came into the series ranked No. 1 in the nation in home runs. Clemson had held them without one through a game and then six innings yesterday, but they've homered in four of the six innings with at-bat since (5 total).
On the plus side, after six walks and four hit batters yesterday -- none of either from the Tiger pitching staff through four today.

Going foward the Cam should be lead off, followed by Wright. Ingle should be 3rd. Taylor fourth. Blackwell 5th. I hope Corbitt gets healthy and can start 2nd base. he can bat 6. Abrams, Jarrell, should stay getting more at bats as DH at 7. Grice 8. Fairey 9.
