My 6 year-old was the honorary captain on Saturday.

My daughter (a brain tumor survivor) was the honorary team captain for Saturday's game against ND which was a "red card cancer" event. She is still talking about it! She doesn't know a lick about soccer but that was very special for her.

I was watching the football game in the Hendrix Center and left early (at 42-14 I figured it was as good as over) and headed to Riggs Field. It was nice to see your daughter as the honorary captain and hope she'd doing well. Too bad Clemson lost, but they hung with the #2 team in the country and that isn't a bad thing. Clemson is now guaranteed a winning regular season because they've played 11 games out of 18 and won 8. That's a pretty significant improvement over the last couple of years.

There is nothing in the world worse than sitting in an ER hearing that you need to be admitted to ICU because there is a large mass on your 2 year-old's CT. She is happy and healthy today and has been seizure-free for over a year and a half. She was able to participate in Dance Marathon at Clemson last spring (huge student-led fundraiser for local children's hospitals). I'm an '02 grad and love being able to do things at CU to help raise awareness for things we are passionate about.

I think there are several games (or maybe all?) designated as red card cancer events with a different captain for each.

She and my boys (4 & 2) had a blast. They had no clue the team lost!

I'm impressed Kyle Fisher is in uniform, he took a nasty blow to the head against Notre Dame and had to have stitches.
