Clemson shuts out SC 7-0 on Monday

Mar 2, 2015, 6:46 PM

Clemson beats their rival South Carolina 7-0 on Monday at Carolina Stadium and clinches the series 2 out of 3 for the Tigers and outscored them at a 19-8 clip.

The Tigers improved to 7-3 on the young season.

Baseball radio announcer Don Munson commented on the South Carolina crowd leaving near the end of the game "Gamecock fans filing out of here like it's 63-17." The Gamecocks mustered only 4 hits on the day but had 4 defensive errors.

Koerner won the Bob Bradley Award as Clemson's MVP of the series. Attendance for the game was 8,242 and 39th sellout for Caroilna Stadium.

The Tiger's next game is Tuesday against Winthrop at 5 pm.

watched that Parke lefty for SC grow up - always a hard

thrower but hit more batters than anyone. Think he pitched the 9th. Hope he does OK for them, just personal - he was committed to CU as a walk on and got the ride at SC for those who follow BB.

Also watched Batson for CU - same age group - Batson was the REAL standout. Hope to see him at the plate one of these days. he can hit it a country mile.

I thought Batson would be in line for significant playing time this season. Don't think I've seen his name in any of the box scores.
