I like this young man. Without saying he favored the Tigers, his comments point to that. I believe the Jackman will join the family and go on to be a great OL for us.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I hate that the distance makes it difficult to visit. He's been to Ohio state plenty, needs another visit to Tiger Town to confirm his feelings that Clemson is home.

Some of these guys are getting smart at dropping Tidbits to sway peoples thoughts to thinking they know where they are going, when they are actually heading in another direction. I guess it's mostly to test the the thoughts of coaches and what they are willing to offer them through a line of BS and saying anything to obtain their services. I say this bc that is what I would do, I would want to see who is willing to tell me anything to sign me. In situations like recruiting, I believe that it is best to be upfront and a 100% honest with these guys. I do believe they get 110% honesty from Dabo and his staff. Their HS coaches should have, and most have schooled them on what to listen for, and what a college recruiter can honestly promise them, and what they can't. Hopefully that helps the recruit to see right through the B-S that a lot of coaches offer. If I was a HS coach that had a 5* or a 2* player, I would be sure that they were 100% prepared for the college recruiting process, and they're able to see through all the B-S that goes on in recruiting. If I knew of coaches that wasn't always completely honest with their promises to recruits, I would be sure they knew what I had learned about those coaches in the past, and Urban Meyer is a coach that I do not trust bc of the B-S way he left Florida. The people that follow recruiting, most have learned that it is a dog eat dog business where one top recruit can be worth a lot of money for a college sports program.

No, Dexter Lawrence, "Big Dex" the monster defensive tackle that he'd have to line up across from everyday in practice...that'll push him to be his best.

If Clemson is for him he will know. And I suspect as long as we've hung in there that we are for him.

doesn't he have family in the Charleston area? Also, isn't his calling as someone from Ohio to make his natural migration to the state of South Carolina? Seriously though, I thought I read that he has family in SC.

Ohio State would be the easy pick, the one everyone expects him to make. I just don't see him doing that. He's a different dude. Clemson offers him a chance to expand his horizons, take on a new adventure, challenge himself in ways that Ohio State can't.
Not to mention, he and Salyer would form an absolutely terrifying duo from day 1.

With Mitch Hyatt likely to leave, Mr Carmen with have a great opportunity to compete for a starting tackle spot right away.
I think we have a better shot with Salyer, but Wow! what a tandem they would make.
Venables defensive line will push all of our O lineman like no other team can.

Someone should send Mr. Carman Urban Meyer's statements about Clemson from the year he had Saban-phobia, semi-retired and worked for ESPN (from the Auburn game I believe).

Well maybe we should see it as OSU a lean and not a lock. If they were a lock, I think that he would have already chose OSU and shut his recruiting down. Actually, I think that we are in his head pretty heavy, and he is wanting to be sure that he makes what he believes to be his best choice. Leaving home for these kids when a top program is right there close to home, it makes it really tough to go away from home and mom....

commits in his ear about going to Columbus ?
XT and TL are huge recruiters, and will be probably be working him hard for a visit
but urb is as deceiving as they come, wouldn't be surprised to see them plant assistant coaches at his HS for the next 3 weeks to convince him otherwise
a visit to tiger town in july followed by the OV during the regular season hopefully seals the deal
once this domino falls, slayer will follow suit
could be the highest touted OL recruit tandem in tiger history

Still think it's OSU with regrets. Remember, he knew he was talking to a CU guy and questions asked were from a CU slant. Don't suspect he'd have carried on about XT, Trevor and Coach Caldwell to a guy from an OSU web site.
Even if we were a little ahead, imagine the home-town and relatives' pressure on him to stay local. The cost to Mom and Dad to see him play, etc. We have to be way ahead to overcome all that and if he can't make the cookout, don't see how we'll get there. Really, if he's going to decide this month, he might as well burn his official to get the air fare and come on.
If we do get him by some miracle, I think he'll be the biggest get of this class. I'd love to replay Kyle Parker's last season with Watson's O-line. Parker had lots of toys and a good defense. That O-line was the difference between a championship and a losing season.
My best hope right now is that he puts off his commitment until he can take an official here on a game-day.

I like the methodical and logical thought process he is adhering to in this decision. I hope he chooses us, and I wish him the best in his career as a Tiger. If he isn't a Tiger, I still wish him the best. He is a gifted player who seems to have his head on straight. These young men amaze me with their maturity. I certainly didn't handle my recruiting this well, and I was barely a prospect. It is amazing how mature some of these guys are. Very impressive, and it goes to show they have good examples in their lives, and they are mature enough to listen. Kudos to all!

If/when Hyatt goes pro after this season it sets up perfectly for Carman to come in and protect TL's blindside for 3 years and win a few championships along the way. One can dream!
