Recruiting getting tougher

Recruiting against Georgia, Bama, Ohio State and Notre Dame is hard enough but adding Tennessee is going to make it even tougher.

At least we never have to worry about recruiting against that school in Cootlumbia. They are horrible.

The peanut gallery may be disagreeing, but you are correct. Tennessee being bad allowed Clemson to grab Tee and Amari among others. More will likely stay in state as Tennessee builds.
Same thing goes for FSU, while still struggling, players are starting to go there again. Miami has snagged a couple of 5 stars recently. Florida is down but still gets some recruits Clemson would like.
Simply spreading the talent around more dilutes the possibilities.

Agree. Florida, Miami and Tennessee being down helped us for sure.

They are down but isn't that partially because Clemson got better? Clemson keeps winning and those schools will continue to be on the outside looking in. BTW, UT also competes directly (and has been losing) with Georgia and Alabama.

Speaking of national recruiting, any of y’all live in the DFW area? The RB for Southlake Carroll, Owen Allen has put up ridiculous stats through his career, so far 6,858 yards rushing and 107 TDs. He has decent size too 6ft 200lb and is playing ball in 6A in Texas. But yet his only 2 offers are Army and Air Force. You’d think he’d have better offers then those and at least some small schools like North Texas or Tulsa. Just wondering if any of the locals have any info about him. Southlake Carroll is a football power house and always puts players into power 5 schools but this kid is hardly ranked on most recruiting sites. Thanks for any answers.

Is a big time soccer player isn’t he? He may be leaning that way. Has great numbers in football also.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t play soccer, couldn’t find anything about it, I did find an article about him being frustrated with his recruiting process with the numbers his put up so far with only the service academy’s offering him, and his stats are great, and his not doing it against 1A teams in SC, he is doing it against 6A teams in TX, and teams like Auburn or Tennessee offer everybody with a pulse, so I’m just curious why he has just those 2 offers on the table. I mean we already got a commit in the DFW area, why can’t we take a look and maybe find another diamond in the rough, I mean we’ve made worst gambles on recruits with far worst stats against weaker competition then this kid. Just my opinion of course.

Yeah, guys like you were whining about recruiting last year, too, and it’s a pretty good class you have coming in next year. Clemson is going to sign good recruits
