Clemson has outgrown Brad Brownell

Brad Brownell was hired in 2010 when Clemson athletics had a totally different look than it does now. At that time the football team went 6-7 and Dabo was still viewed as a botched hire. Clemson soccer just hired Mike Noonan and our women's basketball team was bottom of the ACC. The only sport Clemson had in 2010 that was performing well was Clemson baseball which was making the CWS.

Most importantly Clemson basketball was finishing middle of the ACC, and getting bounced first game of the tournament every year. Clemson Athletics was middle of the ACC and completely irrelevant nationally.
The best Clemson could do was hope for coaches that could keep us somewhere around average and occasionally have a good year. Brad Brownell fits that description perfectly.

Fast forward to 2023. The football team and soccer teams are national powers. The baseball team has fallen to mediocre, but we've made two coaching changes sending the signal that we expect more. I can't even count how many changes we've made to women's basketball head coach. Clemson softball is brand new and looks to be competitive immediately. Clemson athletics clearly wants to be great in all areas, the one exception is men's basketball.

Brad Brownell may have been good for Clemson in 2010, but it is clear he is no longer a good fit in 2023.

I never liked Brownell. I never respected h.

he was rude to service workers.... and out of all the Clemson athletics coaches i would see every week (the Scott's getting lunch, the Swinneys getting Sunday lunch, the endless players , etc) Brad Brownell was the worst personality i ever met

like I would see every one from Athletics once a week

he was by far not a cultural fit

i'm stunned y'all have kept him this long. i quit watching BB the day Coach Oliver left

and i use to stand under the basket for every home game when Larry Shyatt was coach. (like alongside the buffer / sweep kids)
