Clemson fan guide for watching Tiger basketball

Hey guys it seems like we need some common ground here and I thought I'd pass along guidance based on 4+ decades of watching tiger hoops. This method works really well for me and I hope you'll find this helpful.

When the season begins, temper expectations. Everyone knows we'll get off to a crackin start against subpar nonconference opposition. If we perform poorly here the season will be a disaster. If we perform really well here you'd be a fool to get excited.

When conference play starts just expect us to go .500. More than that is a bonus, less can be complained about. So if we start 0-2, BE HOPEFUL. We may win the next game or 2. If we start 2-0 expect us to lose. This way you don't fall for the age old trick that is Clemson basketball.

To put it into football terms, you should expect us to lose a game or two every year. If we don't lose one in the first half of the season, proceed with cautious optimism. If we do lose an early game, NO WORRIES. We are likely to win most of the rest. The concept is really the same, the difference is expectation. Expect to lose half of hoops ACC games, and expect to lose maybe a single football conference game.

This time of year, it's ok to be hopeful that we make the NCAAT. Just expect we lose the first round game. Same can be said about the NIT.

What makes this method so successful you ask? We are currently 7-7 and play GT tomorrow. This means no one has ANY EARTHLY IDEA who will win, so you (THE FAN) are really set up for some great entertainment tomorrow.

I hope you enjoy this guide and that it helps. Go Brad Brownell! And take your assistants with you!

Francis Marion®. You've done a great job of moderating of late and I hope you don't feel like I'm stepping on your toes here.

😂 😂

Takes a real one to accuse someone of lying when she's got nothing more than to parrot what another idiot claimed.

Run now back to your tardo-threads where you discuss guessing weights of each others' livers and what women you wish would smell your feet.

History makes it hard to argue with any of that.

I have been suffering through 7 decades of BB and have come to expect the worst. I have thought through these time the best way to save athletic funds is the send the BB team to the tournament on a bus, because they usually lose the first round. That way you save hotel money. Yes I am a 64 grad pessimist. There I said it. Get over it.

This sounds so much better than my description of: they'll start out looking like world beaters and end up looking like meat beaters comments. Thank you.
