Clemson As An Independent? Doable? Or Bad Idea?

Asking for a friend!

With respect to the "storied" history of Notre Dame; they haven't been relevant since Tony Rice(South Carolina kid BTW).

Could Clemson sports stand alone as an independent? Some intriguing rivalries would be there in our backyard. Big 10 or SEC and of course ND!

We have won it all twice in the playoff era against what some people call the big boys of the sport. If we got enough $$ from TV; would it make sense?

Because going to Iowa in November isn't appealing to me. I would rather go to Gainesville, Florida. Or any other cold state basically is the last place; I would want to go see a football game.
In the SEC with the love affair, the conference seems to have with TN and Alabama, and sometimes Florida would Clemson athletics be looked at any better than it currently is by the Greensboro crowd?

Note: this might be a stupid question. It might be a question that has been raised as well. I just didn't see it. But, my thought process is if GT and FSU left and we didn't like the new deal, "would it make sense for Clemson athletics"!

Wait, didn't we also win a National Championship in International Football(soccer)? Yes.

Clemson has something TV wants; I would think. Or it's orange-colored glasses.

Conferences are about to go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Filling up a 12 game schedule with multiple quality games is going to become difficult.

Got it.

That was pretty decisive.

I get it though.

Thanks for the feedback!

Will not be possible with the super conferences demanding high number of conference games.

Not doable nor possible. Clemson cannot afford to.

We aren’t nearly the national brand Notre Dame is.

We couldn’t get anywhere close to the TV deal they have. And without that, we wouldn’t have the funds to be an independent.

We would also likely have trouble filling our schedule with quality opponents.
