Clemson - Notre Dame game

I would not be surprised to see the Clemson-Notre Dame game played on September 19th, or possibly Sept 12th. Both teams are already favored to meet again in the ACCCG. Assuming both win out against the other conference opponents, playing early in the season would help the loser of the game recover in the rankings and result in a higher ranked match-up in the championship game. It would also be better to separate the CU-ND games by months, rather than weeks.
The biggest advantage for a early season game is the stage that presents itself. With the SEC, Big 10, and PAC-12 all scheduled to start September 26th, an already-huge games with major CFP implications would be all the bigger with no viewership competition for a football-starved national audience. Only the Big 12 is planning to start conference play by the 19th, and there is only one game in that league (Texas-OU) that could come close to competing for viewers against CU-ND.
The ACC could start the season with a bang with that marquee match-up on opening weekend, but I think giving both teams a game or two under their belt would be the best option. However it plays out, I just hope it does play out!

I don't want to see Notre Dame anywhere near the top of the standings. They are not a member of the ACC,no matter what happens this year. In fact I hope they are 0 and whatever when we play them.I just want to see that little leprechaun peeing in his pants at the end of the game. And finally I know I will get a lot of flack for this, but if the freaking Irish were playing the coots,I'd pull for the coots. That's how much I hate Notre Dame.

Can you imagine the unthinkable happening, and ND somehow beating Clemson in the ACCCG? This would not only hurt our CFP chances, but forever taint the ACC record books forever. I really don’t understand the one year deal. Get in, or get out IMO.
I do understand showing ND some goodwill in hopes that they join permanently down the road, but honestly, I think if they join a conference, it’s going to be the B1G. They are surrounded by Big10 schools, Also have more natural, and historical rivals there.
That said, I also don’t see then ever wanting to give up their games against USC, Stanford, Texas, etc.

I hope no Clemson-Irish game in Sept - I already have tickets, lodging and airfare for 11/7 game in South Bend. A Sept game will end that.
IMHO Swoffie has set up the ACC schedules to give UNC max opportunity to square up with Clemson in the ACC final (as well as beefed up Clemson's strength of schedule to help ACC.) Give me Sam Howell at home over Ian Book 8 times out of 10. Either way, go Tigers!
