14 hours and 15 minutes by car, if you don't stop. That's only a 28.5 hour round trip drive for a 3 hour football game.

Something can be said for that. I was born and raised in SC and for work, I travelled and lived from SC to California and Florida to Maine with many stops in between. The Mid Westerners (non-big city types) were the closest to Southerners any where I went and lived.
The people are friendly. Instead of BBQ, it may be beer and brats. Outside the big cities, they are hard working farmers, cowboys and freedom loving Americans.

That's insane. I went to one away game last year at Ga. Tech. It only took me 8 hours and 32 minutes to get from Greenville to my seat in the stadium.
Fortunately, I got to my seat at the start of the 4th quarter and was able to see the offensive highlight of the regular season when CK came in and led a TD drive. My return trip home only took 7 hours and 43 minutes.
Both trips were none stop. Packed 2 Kind bars, 40 ounces of water, and an empty 2 liter RC cola bottle for urine.

My crop duster can go about the exact distance on a single tank, and would only take 5-7 hours to get there. Although I believe the fuel would be about $1400 each, but it beats driving.
