I hope CK2 comes back.
Truthfully, I think he’s progressed much better than TL16 and I personally would rather have CK2 than TL16.
I know, extremely controversial - but CK2 has overcome a ton of adversity with a much poorer roster than TL16 and has proved he is truly an all time Clemson great.
Curious your thoughts

Loved TL16 & unreal accomplishments But..

He did seem to digress a bit vs LSU in Natty (but had a difficult game & win vs Buckeyes week earlier that wore entire team out while JoeB had a weak team to beat)..
And TL16 really played poorly the next CFP Semi-game vs OHst the next year and lost hugely.
I think CK did progress nicely this year but still doing bone-headed plays particularly the crazy throw on last play & INT vs usc when all he had to do is run out of bounds..
Get 1 more play into the end zone for win and if not then go for possible game tying FG to go into OT.

I don't think he is elite, and I don't think he will ever be elite. He still does not see the field very well and he consistently misses the open man and he has accuracy issues from time to time and his arm is not elite (good, maybe even great, but not elite).
He gets stuck on reads and early on tried to force the ball into dangerous situations. He has gotten better, and he will be better next year, but he is a system QB that has never developed into an elite talent due to his limitations with seeing the field. That does not mean he is a bad QB, it just means he is not elite. That also does not mean he wont put up elite type numbers in the right system, it just means he is not elite himself.
I hope he does come back, because if he does not Clemson will be screwed next year and will accelerate a decline. I would not put him in the same category as TL16 or Watson for that matter. I would put him on par with Boyd, maybe a little better mentally, a little worse arm talent. If he does come back I expect his draft stock to go up, but I do not expect him to be a starting QB in the NFL, he just does not have IT....this is probably going to be unpopular, but just how I feel.

Its a die hard belief in himself with a specific target (goal) in mind and he will not stop working until that goal is attained.
No one will pick him 1st overall because of combine numbers but he will be like a Brock Purdy or Brady… when you roll him out there at QB1 dimes start dropping and W’s start coming…
Man, think if that tipped pass doesn’t get INT vs USC and we get home field against say IU… would be a much different story… we still wouldn’t have the D to hold up eventually but I think we will get there. Dabo will get it done…

Cade is not in the Same Stratosphere as Trevor. Trevor Did not Regress! In the LSU championship Game, the Tiger Defense was Manhandled! Trevor has a better Arm and much better Decision Making than Cade has Shown (although Cade improved a good bit this year).

Wrong. Just wrong.
Ok, maybe not totally wrong, but it’s hard to argue that TL16 progressed. He was aided by Higgins, ETN, and Justyn Ross in that freshmen natty vs Bama.
But he never had that dog in him that Deshaun had.
Remember when we lost to Bama in the last natty? Until the clock hit 0 I was confident we’d find a way with Deshaun.
I feel the same way with CK2.

He's gotten better each year. I can't wait to see him progress next year with the weapons he'll be surrounded by. Not only that but Riley and Luke will have another year in the system. Our offense should be elite in 25. Hoping our core returns on both sides of the ball.

He should come back. Not where he needs to be for the NFL yet. Still high throws some and short throws some on deep passes. He should get better next year for a final college run. As for the whole team unless you are a Senior and have exhausted College eligibility everyone should and needs to come back. Time will tell. GO TIGERS

I don’t think he’s better than TL but I do feel he is already established himself as third on our QB list behind DW and TL. Another year especially if it is with a good defense, he will be a Heisman contender and could work his way into the first round of draft. I also think he will have an NFL career. Very possibly a solid starter in the right situation but no worse that a long term Whitehurst style guy.

I am formally withdrawing my terrible hot take about Kelly Bryant being rated above him on the Clemson QB tiers list, I was frustrated after the Coot game, but over the last 2 games, Cade has shown the ability to shine in big games and if he keeps it up, he will end up just a notch below TL and DW or if has truly great year he could enter that top tier!
I think he surpasses Tajih Boyd as far as legacy goes (if he has not already done so)

Great points.
I think he fits a similar point in the Clemson arc to Tajh - he's helped Clemson get back to prominence (ie the Playoff run).
I think he's mentally tougher than Tajh was - Tajh would throw a pick and couldn't get out of his own head. CK2 has proven to dust off and improve.
What he did against Texas was nothing short of impressive. 2024 Clemson was a run game and run defense short of being a legit CFP threat.
Let's hope we improve on those fronts in '25.
