If I was Muschamp, I'd throw a million at Chad Morris

and see if he'd bite. I doubt he would go there, but worth a shot.
Same thing for whoever the new FSU coach is. Chad is an effective OC. Maybe just over his head as head coach.

That cutesy pass attempt from Sammy that was intercepted. Gaaah. We had just marched down the field effortlessly. There was absolutely no need for that. That hurt. That’s how I remember The Chad.
(Bonus: play calling by Toad “Cycling In” Ellis.)

I’ve actually thought about that often. Hot Rod was running it down their throat and then the cute pass. Sooo dumb.

And ignoring the fact that Andre Ellington was running right through them. The run negated the clown. Instead he plays right into their strength by trying to throw the ball. The clown got more sacks in one game than most of the rest of the year combined. He did a lot of good opening up the offense, but he could not at all adjust to what the defense was doing time and time again. That's why spurrier ate him up. That's what I remember, too.

LOL. Dw4 was having a crazy good year in 2014.

Of course our offense was better in 2015 and 2016 with a healthy dw4.
Chad helped turn us around. It's why Dabo hired him. Dabo envisioned that type of offense. Jeff and Tony have done great on perfecting it.
I wouldn't want Chad back at Clemson. But he'd be a massive upgrade for SCar offense. And for FSU offense.
He's a great recruiter too. Dw4 came due to Chad.

Great Point About Chad Not being able to beat U of suck
Nov 10, 2019, 7:58 PM

His play calling never allowed us to be physical enough. Our OC's now took some from Chad; but had grown up knowing you had better get tough at the line of scrimmage. We never were tough on the line under Chad Morris!
We won a bunch of games b/c we could use tempo to tire out DL's. But, what if the tempo wasn't enough to neutralize that advantage on the line of scrimmage? And that's what happened to Chad here and at Arkansas! No back up plan to say - "hey, we will need to know how to grind and be physical at the point of attack in case my super fast thousand miles an hour tempo doesn't work"!
Perhaps he develops a back up plan and one day "is that guy"! Until he does he will just be another Malzahn/Chip Kelly who was ahead of the up tempo game. But now everyone is doing it - just another OC.

Chad gets paid 1.8 million a year to sit at home by Arkansas per terms of his buyout. He would forfeit his buyout if he took this. He's gonna be drinking a beer with Willie Taggart on a beach somewhere.

You could get Sammy to leave the NFL, enroll in grad school at South Carolina and play his last year of eligibility. Otherwise he wouldn’t do much good

Just some names Morris had at Clemson
Nov 10, 2019, 8:01 PM
|
|
that gave him his reputation:
Deshaun Watson Nuk Hopkins Tahj Boyd Sammy Watkins Martavis Bryant Andre Ellington Mike Williams Adam Humphries Artavis Scott
Was it really his coaching that was great? I remembered our defense suffering a lot because our offense was way too fast. TD drives would take 30 seconds off the clock and 3 and outs took 90 seconds in real time. It was a double edged sword.

Chad isn't going to hitch his wagon to a coach...

who is likely going to be unemployed in the next twelve months.
Even though Cusschamp specifically said at the beginning of the season, this was his best team since arriving at uof5c, he will get a pass for finishing 4 - 8 this year because of the bull$#!7 "difficult schedule" excuse.
With the vast majority of what little offensive talent they do have departing after this season, next year won't be much better.
