Ben, with all due respect, calls to “flood inboxes” and demand people lose their jobs over rumors and social media outrage don’t reflect Clemson values. We are better than mob justice.

If a faculty member actually violated university policy, there are already clear processes for accountability. But jumping straight to “immediate termination” based on what you think may have been posted is reckless. Professors are not disposable just because you dislike their politics or hear something secondhand.

Clemson thrives because of debate, diversity of thought, and a commitment to truth. Let’s not cheapen that legacy by trying to intimidate people into silence.

People that work in public education are expected to not express their personal beliefs on their personal social media accounts. Public K-12 school teachers have been getting fired for years for such posts. Why do professors feel that they should be treated differently? Teachers and professors have one job and that is to teach the curriculum. When the instructor in a public school setting makes their personal beliefs known, some students are going to feel uncomfortable in their classroom.

An instructor in a public school setting has to have an inviting for ALL. Personal feelings and beliefs need to be left at the door.
