Lunge Dock Experts

Apr 14, 2023, 2:34 PM

As yawl know, momma Tiggity has been pricing a new dock. She's gotten some insane estimates, and a few that are almost "reasonable".

Latest guy who's in the ballpark of a sane estimate indicated in the estimate that all lumber used would be CCA treated with a minimum retention of .6

So my question, is this good lumber for a dock?

Lumber rock is out. Wanting to use a good grade treated wood.

thx

How’d you decide to go with “dock” instead of “wood”?

Looks like regular old treated wood.

CCA-C is the active ingredient—in this case, chromated copper arsenate, type C.
0.60 is the lumber’s retention rate, or the amount of preservative used to treat the wood. The higher the retention rate, the lower the biodeterioration rate.

CCA treated wood is not what it once was

Spend the money for the lumber rock unless you want to go through this again in 10-15 years IMO.

for weeks..months even.

Now it's about the quality of a water based glue they paint the boards with.
