Cat, in regards to utility increases

Just wanted to show this to you, it explains how/why you may be seeing increases. Not necessarily tied to tariffs at all in fact. Just normal rate increases approved by the State govt. I know you said you did not believe me when I said my power bills have not risen but my power company has not been granted a rate increase. Will it come, sure but not yet. Notice that the increase cited in this link were approved in 2022 and are phasing in over 4 years, hence higher bills if consuming the same power.

I remember in 2024 when Democrats were trying to explain why "egg prices" were so high.
As they say, in politics if you are explaining you are losing.

Not trying to win or lose but those increase were approved in 2022 and phase in over 4 years. It explains how and why increase are occurring that have little to do with tariffs.

I retract my statement. However, it's coming; it's already hit hard in Charleston area. Again, I punt to Flow on this as he knows more about the industry and he warned us in the Spring when the tariffs hit that this was coming.
In the end, we're all getting punched in the #### by this.

I have no doubt the steel, copper and wire tariffs will come in to play if they remain. Along with ancillary components such as transformers switch gear etc. How soon, I have no clue but it is not here yet.
15 years ago I inquired about a fuel cell that Redox(?) was devoloping that would run on NG and produce KW at $.05. It was interesting as it also would heat all hot water including pools by thermal transfer , not using KW's, Also its size was supposedly the same as a dishwasher. Sadly it has never been released and last I checked no plans to do so. I wanted one badly as projected cost was $8k-$10K.
Eliminates the need for transmission lines, substations etc and is not prone to weather outages.

Well you cant blame them. The financial news outlets are currently blaming literally any bad economic news on tariffs so the weak minded will probably just assume any and every thing that they dont like must be due to tariffs as well. Wonder when they'll stop to wonder why the markets went down, earnings fell short, etc prior to six months ago before the tariff boogeyman could be blamed for literally all of it.
