Can't make this stuff up!

Slurrier is getting a $700,000 raise! I have never seen a Coach get rewarded so much for doing so little... Already the 4th or 5th highest paid Coach in College Football...

Not even 4th highest in SEC. Try again...
Even if the raise put him up at that level, we finished no.4 in the country so that would seem about right to me.

It gets beating us 5 years in a row. We have to do better than that with our payroll.

"Automatic $700,000 raise for every Citrus Bowl victory" Ol Ball Sack is a great visionary. He knew not to ask for BCS clause.

Spurrier's isn't even the 4th highest paid coach in the $EC

Saban, Sumlin, Malzhan and Miles all make more than Spurrier. A $700,000 raise would make him the third highes paid coach in the $EC.

I disagree. Frankly I think he is overpaid....

considering he has not really won anything of note. He is basically being paid for beating Clemson which, apparently, is all the Capons really care about.
At Clemson, accomplishing little else other than consistently beating you rival gets you fired.

But even moreover he has stirred up their fanbase brought excitement to the program.

And no doubt that is missing from his resume at USC. But, as much as I hope they never win another game in any sport ever, I also have to admit they are playing pretty good football these days, and very good football when you take into account their history.

has not got dabo fired for losing to the coots for 5 years. so that pretty much blows your statement out of the water. it might have used to but not now! and remember dabo said this is not a rivalry it is a domination. he better go check our record against Georgia and Georgia tech, because he is confused about them being a rival as well. he better check or have tim b check before he tweets that again!

Yes, 3rd highest BEFORE any other raises are announced. Other coaches will get raises as well. My guess is he will remain around no. 5 in terms of salary in the SEC.

Talk about making things up. He becomes the 9th highest paid coach, improving from 12th with the pay raise. Top-10 coach three years running; 9th highest paid; sounds about right to me.

I agree. As much as I dislike the old ball sack he is a good football coach. Plus coots know he could leave any time so best way to keep him around is money.

Why pay him? What is he going to do if you don't give him a raise? His next move is retirement I don't understand why you would give him a raise every year.

My mistake. He is the 12th highest paid coach! I was looking at an old site. That's still a good chunk of $$$ for a coach who hasn't put any hardware in the case.

For doing so little? They've had 3 consecutive 11 win seasons, have 3 consecutive top 10 finishes and have beaten their rivals 5 times in a row.
I'd say Spurrier has done quite a bit while there.
They haven't won the conference, but that's more of a testament to the power of the SEC.

No but it's not the SEC West either, which makes the conference what it is.
Scar can't win their division because they lose to teams they shouldn't (Auburn 2011, Tennessee 2013).
