We knew it was coming. Everyone knew he was gone after the SCar game. Who cares when he announced. He will play possessed in the playoffs to increase his ranking in the playoffs. We haven't heard from Kearse or Mack but he doesn't talk to the press anyway. He said he came to Clemson to get a championship. So if he gets it this year he might be gone.

Shaq is definitely ready and in my opinion will do better than Beasley in the NFL. Neither Kearse or Alexander are ready and could use another year especially Alexander his performance does not match his swagger. He has been beat numerous times this season and has always lucked out by having opposing QB overthrow receiver. In ACCCG he was beaten 6 time by 5-8 yards and fortunately Williams could not connect.

Is this what the Clemson fan of the future is going to be? We're going to bash players (Kearse/MA) who may have had a bad game, oblivious to the fact they are a huge part of Clemson's success? It's brutal of fans to ignore ten straight games. Can you do it?
There are no perfect players...and this Tiger fan has no interest in being a 'Fairweather Johnson'. NONE!

I have not missed attending a home game in 15 years and I am not a "Fairweather Johnson". As for Kearse he has been jaking it for the last 5-6 games ever since he was listed as a possible first rounder. Alexander has been burnt a few times each game but fortunately with NC, Syracuse, and Wake QB's he has gotten away with it. Maybe you should actually go to a game instead of living your life from your Mama's basement. I see things for what they are and that has nothing to do with my love for the Clemson Tigers. Shaq on the other hand has performed consistently each game so I guess the 10 game stretch didn't wear on him.

have known this for a long time before he actually announced it to the media. He has been playing lights out even when I'm sure this decision has been made for a while now and I would not expect him to lay back and play it safe like a Clowny.

I heard some of the "experts" before the season say that Beasley being gone would hurt us bad. They said Lawson couldn't fill the void. He didn't just fill the void he surpassed the ceiling of Beasley IMO. Shaq was always pushing, he never let up. He never stood by and watched his teammates make a tackle. 79 tackles from a DE weighing 275! Over 20 TFL and 9.5 sacks. Shaq, I hate to see you go but it's your time....you earned it! He's come up big so many times this season. He set the bar pretty high IMO and the tandem with Dodd will probably go down as my all-time duo at the bookends.
I think Lawson leaves Clemson as the most complete DE we've put in the League in a LONG time. He will be missed for sure!

He'd have throttled down a month or more ago, if that was the case. It's not in his DNA.
Leaving now makes sense...it's unlikely he can improve his position. Remember, if it weren't for having to go to Hargrave, this would have been his senior season, too. In my view, he's further along, largely due to body type, than Beasley. Shaq's ready.

He is the first of probably all 11 starters on the defense that will play in the NFL. Not all will be a star like Shaq probably will be, but every one of them will see some snaps.
