Washington State got hit the hardest with 36 players leaving via the portal while Purdue was right behind with 32. Arkansas (30), Oklahoma (29), and Arizona round out the top five. '
Nebraska and Mississippi State had 26 players transfer out while Virginia Tech, Washington, and Utah had 25 players leave.

I think that before long we'll see a major program or more calling it quits in CFB due to a large number of players leaving for greener pastures and/or insufficient money to pay enough players to field a team for a season.

...and add those players that either graduated or exhausted their eligibility, a coach can wide up losing more than half of his last year's team. If someone (maybe you) has time, it would be interesting to add those to the out port-o-letters to get a total exodus number of those teams mentioned.

Yes it was Marshall that had to cancel their bowl game. As I recall 80% of their offensive production entered the portal. They didn't even have enough offensive linemen. In both 2023 and 2024 they had 45 new players. They will have a similar number in 2025.
As a fan it's hard to relate to a completely new team every season.
