"How will I receive the money under the Child Tax Credit?

Details of how — and how often — the money will be sent by the IRS still need to be worked out.

The stimulus measure directs the Treasury Department to advance these payments “periodically,” which most likely will mean monthly, but we’ll need confirmation from that agency and the IRS in the weeks ahead, Watson pointed out."

But here is the cash amounts:

"The payment would be based on a parent’s 2019 or 2020 federal return, whichever is the most recent available to the IRS.

The higher child tax credit payments will go to the younger children. So, it’s $300 per month ($3,600 per year) for infants to age 5. For ages 6 to 17 it’s $250 ($3,000 per year), Watson explained."

Here ya go

Mar 10, 2021, 12:57 PM

The credit phases out for individuals with adjusted gross income of more than $75,000, $112,500 for head of household, and couples with more than $150,000.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-fatherg-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Day care credit going up also.

Mar 10, 2021, 12:58 PM

The tax credit for child and dependent care would increase for 2021 from a maximum of $1,050 for one child and $2,100 for two or more children to $4,000 and $8,000. The credit would also be fully refundable, which means you get a refund, even if it’s more than what you owe.

Phases out completely at $150?

2024 purple level memberringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

From a quick scan, that is the start of the phase out

Mar 10, 2021, 1:02 PM

did not see the complete phase out ceiling yet.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-fatherg-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think so, Tim

Mar 10, 2021, 1:31 PM [ in reply to Phases out completely at $150? ]

So old tax credit was $2K per kid and it maxes out at $400K filing jointly.

I think it would stay there for 2021?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

BEST answer I found

Mar 10, 2021, 1:34 PM [ in reply to Phases out completely at $150? ]

Says it gets phased out from $150K to 170K but you still get the original amount of $2K per kid if you go over $170.

From there, the credit would be reduced by $50 for every additional $1,000 of adjusted gross income earned. That means the $3,000 credit provided to parents of children aged 6 to 17 would be phased out completely for individuals earning $95,000 and those making $170,000 and filing jointly.

Families that are ineligible for the new $3,000 credit due to earning higher adjusted gross incomes would still be able to claim the $2,000 per child credit which is available to those making up to $200,000 ($400,000 for married couples filing jointly).

that some things have now been stretched beyond future usability. If you chit a watermelon, would you ever expect your buttwhole to pucker again? Of course not.

is for all the kids you you already have with each baby mama.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

When you say “new one”, you talking the one that not quite approved?

Mar 10, 2021, 1:03 PM

Difference is simple. For poor folks it’s an extra $1,000 to $1,600 per child. If your kids are under 6 years of age, the government thinks they cost more. They’ve never had to pay to feed a teenager. Focus on the numbers. Pay no attention to the useless details. Just get the money. As much as you can.

I ran the numbers for my SiL the other day and figured she

stands to net about $20k in additional monies from the 3rd stimmy and the new child tax credit. They need some extra cash, for sure. Hopefully they are smart with it. I bet they get a newer vehicle though, even though that wouldn't be real smart with it.

$1400 x 6 for the family stimmy = $8,400
$3000 x 4 for the kids = $12,000

$20,400.00 in free money to be paid back in the next 3 tax cycles by Ineligible user® (sorry man, had to tag you in this one, it sucks, I know, I pay alot in taxes too)

Mar 10, 2021, 1:31 PM

are Irish twins (I think that is the mildly racist name for kids born in same year). When she had babby 4, she made it where she could never have kids again. Her husband refused to get worked on. I think he is saving some spermies in case she finally leaves him and he needs to make more babbies.
