Question for Clemson business majors.
Jul 28, 2014, 6:50 PM

|
Is it really required to take Multivariable Calculus? I am going to transfer but I was reading that my college algebra & statistics are irrelevant. I took Survey of Calculus since I was told that's the last math needed for business majors. UF and all the other florida schools don't even make their business students take anything more than Survey Of Calculus. Am I reading something wrong? I see how it should be a requirement for engineers and physic majors, but finance majors? UF is a pretty #### good school, so I don't understand.

Multivariable calculus for business majors is extremely easy. Just suck it up and take it.

So, they expect me to learn calculus 3 from survey of calculus which isn't even considered calculus 1?

calc 3 is easier than calc 2.
multivariable is basically the same as single variable except you do the same things more than once.

You will be fine just take it. utilize the free tutors and "SIS" if you start to struggle. No reason you shouldn't do well

But seriously, ask your advisor. I wasn't a business major, but Math = Power.
