did with only 2 field goals in the second half. Riley will need to call a better second half and keep the foot on the pedal. We get a lead and then sit on it.

Cade played really well. 20-27
We have to be able to slow the game down to keep our defense off the field. We are awful on that side of the ball. FSU dropped wide open balls Saturday night or we would have been in a dog fight.

At one time or another, most everybody on Tigernet had been posting their 2 cents worth off coaching advice.

Go Tigers let’s show the team we are behind them and the coaches. This past Saturday was one of the first games where it looked like the players and coaches were having fun.
Prior to the FSU game the team seemed to be tight, unfocused and not enjoying the game. Not sure why they have struggled with coming together as one unit. Much like teams from the past.
I know some fans have been really disappointed due to the adversity this season and our record. I have watched every game this season . So far even the fans seem distracted and less interested in any of the home games, with the exception of the FSU game this past Saturday.
So let’s all come together Friday night and support our Tigers. Clemson can beat Louisville !!! 🐅

The offense became ultra conservative in the second half to protect the lead. Some might say too conservative, but it worked against FSU. Not sure we can turn it off that early against Loserville.

Cade is lucky to be playing at all. He was struggling at times Saturday with that bum ankle. That may be part of the reason for conservative play in the 2nd half.

Well that brings up question of why they were calling for QB runs instead of handing it off to the running back with 4 minutes to go.

we realized how quickly the game can turn. I thought the defender twisted him so he could drop his weight on Cade's shoulders. Should have been a penalty. He was lucky he wasn't injured more seriously and that he didn't turn the ball over.
FSU wasn't threatening to beat us driving the ball down the field for TDs and we didn't need to give them any short fields or easy scores.
We also had some awful field position to start a lot of our drives.
I'll take 24-10 for the win.

What worked for the offense was staying vertical. When Riley decided to go screen heavy and horizontal for the majority of the 2nd half, that's what killed the offense. Implement a screen here and there. Coaches cannot actually think a handoff up the middle and 2 screens is going to get us a first down? They got blown up constantly because FSU was looking for it.
Gotta stay aggressive in the vertical passing game. Yeah it might not eat the clock as effectively as running the ball but becoming one dimensional isn't effective either. I'd rather score too quickly than go 3 & Out these days. Vertical passing game with doses of Randall and Davidson has to be the bread and butter for the rest of the season.

On 3rd down we throw short passes behind the markers . At least give us a chance for a first down by throwing beyond the first down marker.

Shovel pass and pop-pass to a WR in motion as he passes in front of the QB are the two safest passes.
We don’t do the shovel pass. I don’t know why.

Agree ! Plus we need to throw the ball down field if the Oline can give Cade time and the receivers have to make the plays. 🐅
And the defense needs to plug up the middle of the field.

I saw Dabo speaking to Riley with about 5 minutes to go. I would assume he did his usual in telling him to run only. No passing. We needed to attempt to get a first down. We had to punt. Fortunately we got a tipped interception. If they score there get an on sides kick and get a quick score choose to go for two points we could lose. Don’t give the #### ball back to them Keep it by trying to get a first down. We are playing scared to death and it does not help us.

I just hate how are opening drive is about the only drive that looks like we're trying to score. Pretty much every 2nd half this season has been lackluster with the offense....it's worse than a Spring Game offense. I don't recall Cade throwing a ball more than 15 yards the entire game this past week, we have to many guys that can make plays not to be taking countless shots down the field. Tristan Smith has proven to be a 1 on 1 nightmare for DBs and he's not getting those 50/50 balls we use to live off of.
