The realists

I laugh when I read the people on here who are CU fans by admission but the claim that if we are "realistic" we should see that we have NO chance to beat LSU.
A few points for arguements
1) Have you ever heard of an upset? 2) Do you think our team might be more motivated b/c they are tired of being told they can/t win? 3) Do you know that a man's faith can overcome his reality?
Examples of unimaginable wins by underdogs are rife in sports...its not a fluke, its a rule.
You guys (realists) go live in your negative realistic worlds but please quit dumping your non-belief onto the one's who want a victory, and want to believe in our team, on those who have the faith that things are getting better. Our faith will eventually make your realism look pathetic....you will see. GO TIGERS!

I think there are who people who think we can win...

just based on recent history think it is unlikely.
1) We lost to the two decent teams we played.
2) Specifically you're second point. I have yet to see this team get motivated by not being given credit or even being embarrassed by in a previous game.
With that said, the biggest positive from this year is we haven't quit in games. Huge step.
Hopefully we'll use this game as a stepping stone and not just a reward for going 10-2.
I'm thinking most fans want us to win.

Franc, according to Tnet, in order to be a true fan you must be highly delusional. And you know this man.

Some people won't admit they have ugly children either.
I expect us to win every game. I'll watch it with that mindset. I will be presently surprised if we do.

We can win if we play ball control and use the play clock
Dec 23, 2012, 11:14 AM

We are unlikely to win if we start throwing post patterns down the field in a fast break offense. Its all up to chad morris and what his game plan will be. If we play fast break or fast paced then expect a game similar to the coot game by the 4th qtr. We will hang around or even lead for 3 qtrs before fatigue takes it toll. If we play ball control with short passes and runs and use the whole play clock that will keep our D fresh and we will have a chance. Just my thoughts.

doesn't make you a realist. It makes you a quitter. Could we lose to LSU, yes. But guaranteeing a loss to a team that we have equal talent to, is the definition of a coward and quitter.

We have equal talent to LSU in the trenches?? Or in the secondary?? Or at running back?? Really??? Whatever you are smoking, enjoy it while you can---until New Year's Eve. Then break out th aspirin. I sincerely hope we can upset LSU, but let's not get delusional.

They act like LSU is this invincible team. They think an LSU team that struggled against Towson, is invincible and unbeatable, even though LSU has lost two games like us.

First off I am a realistic, and while I do not think we will win it is possible. However to counter your argument: 1)Good coaches like Les Miles will have his team guarding against that so called upset. 2)Being told you can't win is one thing.Going out and doing so against teams that play tougher schedules, are more physical anb beats the same team at home that you lost to at home usually bodes for that team. 3)Both teams, and fan bases have equal portions of faith and doses of reality. You can have all the faith you want, but if the other team dominates, and captializes on every opporunity, that team usually wins.Faith has lost just as many games as it has won. Yes,I am a realist.I thought this year we would lose to FSU on the road.I was right. But I also thought we would beat Carolina at home.I was wrong. If faith is what you think makes the difference, than I guess both Jimbo Fisher and Steve Spurrier have more faith than Dabo. And that's not being negative.I just point out that their coaches outcoached ours and their teams out performed ours. And that is reality.

Les Miles notorious for being the worst game clock manager..

in the game. They lost a game to an inferior Ole Miss team a few years ago, because of terrible clock management. And you're telling me, that Clemson with a much more talented team doesn't stand a chance against a team with a coach who is terrible with game clock management.

No, not if you look at how Spurrier made Dabo look like a real estate salesman turned coach or Chad Morris look like a high school coach 2 years removed. And what happened two years ago is moot.

I'll admit he has had some issues...but you don't get to 85-20 in one of the toughest conferences in the country by being a bad in game manager. We have had a lot of late game success as well... Bottom line you have to be in a close game in the 4th qtr for this to even matter...not something I would be excited to count on...

NC State, and NC State beat FSU. Or at least it would seem so, with your analogy of LSU beating the shamecocks. Those kind of analogies never hold up in reality.

No! For the love of God have an open mind and stop being argumentative. All he is saying is that we could easily win just as wevcan easily lose, but based on comparison to both teams and coaches, he feels the chances aren't very good for a win. You people act like LSU is a slouch. Folks, they are in better games then this annually in bowl games. They are experienced and their history in big games speaks for itself. Does he want them to win? He'll yea I am positive he does, but big game Clemson football history as of recent has not been favorable. That's not being biased, that's REALITY.

You keep saying that over and over... LSU beat Towson 38-22. That's more than two touchdowns. If anything their defense gave up more than you'd expect, but winning by 16 is hardly "struggling". Florida struggled with UL-Monroe or UL-Lafayette or whichever the hell it was.
If we can play 4 quarters, we can beat LSU. In our two losses this season, we disappeared in the second half. That MUST not happen if we're to have a chance to beat LSU.
