Swept Wright State. Yeah, ok.
02/26 Winthrop 3-2 L
A bad loss with sub-par hitting.

Take a hard look.

It's what many of us know. Thanks for putting

it into perspective. I suspect a similar pattern existed last year and the previous season as well.

I know you don't want to hear from a coot. But Liberty is a #### good baseball team. USC easily could have lost the series to them early in the year and had to come from behind to beat them 2 of 3. If you think losing to them is horrible you are wrong.
Many of your fans have lost perspective because USC has had a good run of late.
Leggett recruits good players and your team is good year in and year out. You keep doing that and sooner or later you get a good team with the right chemistry and the right luck and good things happen.
The teams USC won with were not our best teams talent wise. They just had the right mixture and chemistry. We had many more talented teams that didn't have that.
You have talented teams. You can get rid of Leggett if you want. But you will not find a better coach. I don't like the guy, but I have enough sense to know he is one of the better coaches in college baseball.

He certainly was one of the best in times past...

but the proof is in the pudding. The downward trend of our baseball team in the last few seasons is clear. Jack has built up enough cred with past success to warrant another season to get our program moving forward again.
As for Liberty, they weren't exactly a world beater in a weak conference. Giving your rebuilding coots a good run earlier in the season is notable, but certainly doesn't translate into an excuse for our play against them. No friggin' way they should be outclassing us right now, but they are.
I hope Leggett and his staff can coach up the talent he's got on board and show some major improvement next season. If not, he needs to go.

Losing 7 of the last 8 stands out.
We were headed for a good season and a home regional until the wheels came off.

I'm curious to know what your point is.......Anyone who

followed the baseball team this season was aware of what you posted....I just didn't see any conclusions drawn from the statistical info in the post---the Tigers were VERY spotty on offense this entire season (probably due to the team being so young at key positions). Hitting with runners in scoring position was pretty bad and cost the Tigers several series they could have won.
Simultaneously, they played a tough schedule (at one point, Clemson had the #5 hardest schedule in the country)against very talented opponents mostly on the road. And for pete's sake, although I think Clemson SHOULD beat a Liberty program most outings, the Flames didn't get to Columbia because they sucked.

We won 40 games but against mostly inferior competition and our hitting was horrible for about the 3rd season in a row.
How about that?
