to do add value to your home.
No, a better idea is to invest money in your air conditioning systems, perhaps even get that basement to stop flooding. That's where you see the real ROI.

ahead and tossed it aside due to having a pool. It also had too much of that wood paneling. I guess I could slowly fix stuff like that on my own.

But if it were my only access to water, I'd probably suck it up and deal with it.
I always kind of looked at wood paneling from this perspective: The wood paneling itself won't be a big deal to replace....but the fact that there's wood paneling in there at all means there's probably a whole host of #### that you're going to have to fix either immediately, or in the near future.
