Why did the Lakip story take 13 days to come out?

Has anyone here worked in the athletic department in an administrative capacity before, or worked in the PR department? I'm wondering what the process is for something like this, and why it took so long to be reported.

because Dabo was on vacation and no decision would/could be made without him concerning Lakip's status with the team until he returned. The school is not responsible for releasing info concerning students arrests.

I think the kid has a problem, and while I don't know for sure I am thinking that Dabo wanted to get Ammon some help and maybe into a program before it was all released. Just my two cents. Not a cover up, but just giving the kid and his family some type of time to get things straightened out.

Because tinfoil hat wearing coots always think there is some sort of conspiracy going on in Clemson. The whole "It took 13 days to come out" is the topic of conversation on most of their boards....insinuating and salivating over some "cover up" where there is none.
If this happened at USuCk, he'd not miss a snap. They all know it.
Lakip is history...that's all that matters.
