I read that early this morning and dismissed it as ambiguous at best. Contradictions are rampant in that paragraph alone and the cheap shot about FSU being to broke to pay their way out of the ACC was not even slightly entertaining.
Perhaps this young lady took that particular approach because she was asked to handle that side of the debate and had no recourse other than ridicule that borders on slander to FSU. Perhaps she was being honest in which case I would check my next sammich to insure she included the mayo.

Yeah try again Heather and I'm still waiting for my classic, easy to make, ham and cheese with a bit of spicy mustard.

What I find most interesting in it isn't directly said. But the ESPN heads have gone from "that will never happen" to talking about it as certainty. It's just a matter of time.

...that's what happens Heather. If you're Clemson you're doing everything you can to find another home because the ACC's goose is cooked. It's about TV revenue, and the ACC doesn't have enough to compete with the Big Boys thanks to Swofford's mis-management. Barring a miracle, the ship has sailed and the ACC (along with the Big Least) is done.
Anybody who thinks the ACC can or will compete is either very young, or doesn't have a full grasp of the particulars. Heather is falls under the latter, with most of the rest of the National Media types.

Swofford didnt mismanage it

He handled exactly how he wanted to. He is in bed with Raycom and did everything he could to sell that and ACC basketball. He was just too arrogant to think schools wouldnt just take it.

and learns she'll be covering Uconn, Rutgers, and the like, or out of a job all together. Not having to read her stupid blog is enough reason to leave the ACC.

Both conferences are in trouble. Why?

Just look at who ESPN hires to cover them. If the ACC and Big East were relevant, they wouldn't hire these morons to write about it.
Reading their banter was like watching two monkeys hump a doorknob.

The best football programs will find new homes in the Big 12, SEC, and maybe the B1G. Those left behind in the ACC and Big East will merge into the ACC to make a good basketball conference with 2nd rate football.
The only question now is, who gets left behind? Wake Forest will no doubt have to stay in the ACC. Duke is in big trouble as well.

But Clemson does have the money if they want to leave....and although FSU says they are running a deficit, if they want to leave the money will magically appear there too.

ACC. She never seems to do any objective analysis or talk to major players and get their opinion. Honestly, she sounds as if Swofford has her on the ACC's payroll.
