One day for no good reason started "Runner From Hell".

I mailed a flyer to over a hundred excellent foot racers I knew using the LERA roles.

Some Runners are Tough
Some Runners are Insane
Some Runners are Both
They are Runner's From Hell

LERA was a group I started as team races were huge in the day, and Charlotte Track would not let me on their team.
Soon LERA was "dominate" over the Carolinas as the best in the area chose to hang with LERA (Law Enforcement Running Association).

Ultra races were becoming a thing.
The deal with RFH was to line up and finish 4 races -> to win a belt buckle.
-- Uwharrie Mountain 40 mile followed 7 days later with the Carolina Marathon.
-- Big Butt 50K in July heat followed 7 days later with the Grandfather Mountain Marathon.

12 guys signed up, not even one from Charlotte took on the challenge I made to all.
Each had to choose a "name from Hell" to race under. My Bride designed this shirt for us.

She is not an artist but beautiful so --? In the races drove the van to pass out gator aid.

I chose the "Hell name" -- "Bat Outa Hell" as I am a fan of Meatloaf.
11 guys earned that belt buckle.
