Been following Clemson Basketball since I was a child

In the early 1970’s. In all my years, including sitting right behind the goals as a student for a front row seat to Horace Grant, Dale Davis and Elden Campbell, I cannot remember a more vicious shot block than what PJHall did last night.
I mean the Georgia Tech player was thinking he was about to throw down a Tommahawk Dunk and he got absolutely demolished. You could tell game was pretty much over after that.

Glad I was in Littlejohn to see it live.

I hope somebody got a good picture of that and will make a poster of it. PJ is a stud and the NBA is on the phone.

We need PJ to come back one more year and thicken up his body for the abuse in the NBA

A good one for sure, but I (and you if you have followed Clemson bball that long) have sewn much better. Tree, Nance, Moose, Davis and others swatted many a shot into the seats on the sidelines.

I can pretty much say without looking for it that Dale Davis had more than one that could top PJ's ..... although I agree it was wicked!

I think at one time they were called the SWAT Patrol

or something like that. Pretty sure it was a Dale Davis team.

Elden had some fine blocks too. But they were smooth and in control. Elden was cool, like the other side of the pillow.

Davis blocks. Them was violent.

I loved it just for the crowd reaction, but coaches will

always tell you, the best shot blocks are the ones where you get possession of the ball. Spiking it out of bounds just gives it right back to the opposition, although it certainly demoralizes them!

That was impressive on the cell phone screen. When PJ turned and saw the GT player incoming his recognition and response was nearly instantaneous, and powerful, just like a Tiger In the wild. I think it deserves a ESPN highlight.

My favorite block was Sharone Wright's monster block of Eric Montross. Absolute posterization and since I was down on the student section on the floor, it was just a few feet in front of me. Great times.
