Absolutely nothing other than off-field scandal gets Dabo fired this season. He's not even on the hot seat.
If we go 4-8 or 5-7, lose to the Coots, then do that again next year, the seat will be extra steamy.

He is absolutely on the hot seat. Repeat of this next year and it’s over. We won’t be able to afford to have 3-4 years of this .

we could lose out (Furman included) and that wouldn't happen.
I'm not confident that our AD & President have the guts to sit down w/ Dabo at season's end to have an honest conversation about where the program is headed and what changes he plans to make.

That's pathetic if the AD and school prez don't have the guts to speak with the coach. No wonder our team plays like weenies. The guys who are supposed to be running the university are cowards. Why would we expect anything more from the cashed out players?

I don't agree about Neff. I think that if there were calls for Dabo's head, he would have the guts. But Dabo has had us in how many playoffs so far, including just last year? Neff doesn't need to have a convo because this is the first really questionable season in over a decade.

I'm not blind. I see the product on the field has been slipping since TL left. That said, we had how many 10-win seasons in a row? How many ACC titles? Sure, the ACC is weak, but it's still a title. Last year was "only" 9 wins? This year is the first one that we've even heard *anything* about a hot seat. Nobody is pushing Dabo out. I genuinely think he could go 0-12 next year and STILL would be safe.

I cant imagine doing this again next year would warrant any further continuation. ACC title last year or not, we havent been elite in a long time. Cant keep paying elite money for far sub-elite production. We are not even mediocre at this point.

Dabo's job is secure this season regardless of our final record. Now at the end of next year is a different story I think. If we finish under .500 next year I bet you he's gone the Sunday after the Carolina game. He doesn't need to win the ACC next year to keep his job but 7-8 wins I would expect would buy him at least another season.

Totally agree with your assessment. I'm not sure 7-8 wins next year would be enough if, after this season, it's business as usual. Meaning no changes are made, we dabble in the portal, and the product on the field looks like this year... especially if the coots beat us this year.

Based on new ACC revenue sharing every loss hurts the bottom line. The BOT is not stupid. As a minimum Dabo will be directed to make changes. At some point.

Wins arent a priority for the rest of this season in my opinion, we need to work Viz and see if he can run it, work the guys with potential and know for sure what we need from the portal. Its a consensus that we must have a massive staff overhaul along with roster change with as much as 75% of the new guys being portal plug and play rather than high school recruit and develope. Now, if Dabo doesnt do BOTH of those things, the question next year is “does he understand” what needs to be done and not so much as this year where he has earned the benefit of the doubt and its assumed he does know whats needed but “will he do all of it.” If he doesnt make pretty much the biggest change in his administration this off season, that seat gets warm by the middle of next year.
