Aug 19, 2012, 1:14 PM

Making plans for the BC Game. Anyone have any recommendations for hotels, etc?

Stay in Back Bay. We're staying at the Lennox but there are a lot of nice hotels in the area

Don't rent a car unless you're making an extended trip and leaving the city. You can get everywhere you need to, including the game, via the T (subway).

Visit Little Italy and Mike's Pastries while there. Best cannollis and boston cream pie.

Bring warm and cold weather clothes. You never know this time of year and it could be cold if the game is at night.

Hotels are very pricey and are filling up. You might try some of the web sites that rent out condos. You can rent a nice one bedroom condo for 100.00 a night and you will not find a hotel for that price. Just find one close to the MTA.

Don't rent a car. Traffic/driving is terrible. We stay downtown in The Financial District and you can walk to Long Wharf, The North End, Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall etc. Other places are a short taxi or T ride.

Visit The North End (Little Italy)and I echo above Mike's Pastry. Also Giacomo's is very good and they only take cash. A lot of great hole in the wall pizza joints.

Long Wharf has the aquarium and a Legal Seafood. If on death row the clam chowdah they serve would be my my last meal. Most of the places we go to eat are craft beer bars. But there are tons of other options.

You an also book ghost tours, whale watching and a fast boat to Provincetown at Long Wharf.

Two things I highly recommend are a tour of Fenway Park. And also a Duck Tour, especially if you love history.

Oh and many CU fans will tailgate at the below link. Get there early it will be packed and line out the door. 15 minute walk from the stadium.
