Baseball Expectations

What are your realistic expectations for the baseball team this season? I have heard everything from missing the tournament to making a super regional. With the Covid year I know its super hard to tell but I think we have a lot of nice pieces, its just all about putting them together.
I think this team is going to surprise a lot of people. All starts Friday with a win.

I don't keep up with baseball but based on Preseason rankings, 5th or 6th in the conference and an NCAA bid.

Go Tiger, this team without injuries, should host a regional and make a super regional. If not make the Super, at a minimum be competitive and you lose 5-4 in third game, so be it. Anything short of that is a disappointment. Dissapointing unless they go to another region and do the same.
Jmho, if we're not deep in pitching then I'd say we have a development problem. The kids we got were rated high enough to accomplish the above.

I think Monte is a good coach. But recruiting baseball is difficult. There is not a level playing field.

Hope I'm wrong, but the baseball team has been trending downward for quite a while and has displayed poor fundamentals and the strikeout or homerun philosophy has seemed to lead to poor contact among our hitters. Ba

Fortunately in BB, there is a lot better chance to contribute earlier than other sports. I’m hoping that Matt Heath will get the guys improving on their fundamentals hitting & fielding.

I love Tiger baseball!! Glad the season is finally here. To answer your question. I honestly don't expect to win a Super Regional or go to Omaha. I feel if we can win a regional that is a success. The last time Clemson won a regional was 2010 if I am not mistaken so that would be a step in the right direction. Pitching is deep enough this year barring any injuries to accomplish that. Hopefully we focus on base hits instead of swinging for the fences ALL the time. I was so sick of seeing one and two pitch outs last year.

It sounds all good that we're working hard on putting the ball in play. Let's hope that's true.
Indiana picked pre season to finish middle of B1G.

I truly just hope we make anybody's regional. I don't think we can expect any more than that at this point. All I really want is to beat the Lamecocks. If we win that series, I'll win the beer bet with a Lamecock fan who I bet every year. This year the bet was on the combined wins vs losses of men's and women's basketball, football, and baseball. Worst I can do is a tie, but that would just blow...

No more losing to mediocre teams during mid-week, win the series against the coots, make a regional anywhere. Anything less and it should be Monte’s last season.
