Who's got two thumbs and buys a 25-year-old European convertible during a polar vortex?

This guuuuuuuuuuuuy.

I've decided to move on from my motorcycle and get something slightly less stupid, but still profoundly dumb. Behold, the 2000 Porsche Boxster S.

The dealership dropped the price so low it would've been a crime not to buy it. I have enough regrets in my life.

And before Obed® shows up here talking about "IMS bearing this" and "rear main seal that," I've done my homework. The car also has a mere 46k miles!

Tomorrow I'm going to attend my first Cars and Coffee event. What a time to be alive.

Nice ride! Id never ask about the IMS bearing.

I hope you got it scoped for cylinder bore scoring though.

Are those stock wheels? Look like 996 Turbo wheels almost.

What options does she have?

The option to put the top down and ride with the wind.***

They may be these: 17" 996 Carrera-look twist-spoke wheels, front 205/50 tires, rear 255/40 tires.

It's got the mid-grade audio system which looks like a shitshow because the previous owner added some things (second amp in the frunk, satellite radio tuner in dash) and then took parts of them out before selling it or trading it in, so now only the rear speakers work. That'll be my spring project.

Otherwise, it's a standard S: More power, 6-spd manual (versus 5 in the base) with taller gearing, drilled rotors (so 2000), white face gauges (again, 2000). It's pretty no frills.

(And the car doesn’t have it in the glovebox) this is a cool service. Last time I did it, it was $20 or so. Prints the original monroney label and you can see exactly how the car was optioned. A little cooler and more accurate than the various VIN decoders online.

New Hope is the land of cars and motorcycles. And weirdos, hippies, and homos. It's also great for family day trips. Interesting town. There's a Triumph Brewing location there, too.

The last Saturday of the month is Cars and Coffee and the second Sunday of every month is Porsche day. My wife will be so pleased when I'm not home.

It's his toy and not an everyday driver (like the Jeep was). I think it has under 70k on it. he's enjoyed it and has had no real trouble with it, fun to drive, and the taxes and insurance aren't bad due to the year. Like you, he was between that and a motorcycle and between the two, I'm REALLY glad with the choice he made.

Insurance on a classic is wildly inexpensive.

It would all pretty well fit in a small Mason jar. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Joonyer could buy that company with what he makes now. You really don't see much of their wares around anymore in spite of them having a lot of 'dealers' listed on their website. I know the company had some serious struggles not long after Joonyer left and the owner is well-noted for using more smoke and mirrors than Rob Spence.
