CJ will surprise a lot of people this year. I mean I'm not complaining at all about the depth we have at RB, but I just hope we spread the wealth a bit. Don't want to see any of the talent we have transfer out. It'll be hard to get touches to all of the talent we have on the field, but I can see us using a rotation of Dye, Gallman, Fuller and Brooks, with some 2 back sets. Maybe Choice can RS this year.

Whats the word on Scott Pagano, is he not progressing, or is he not good enough or injured?

I know Pagano is healthy and practicing. Only word I've heard is that he's the strongest on the team, throwing up 38 reps of 225lbs. It surprises me he didn't play more last year, especially after Dan Brooks said it was tough keeping him off the field his RS year. He will be in the rotation with Watkins and Reader, but is just a run stuffer. I imagine his lack of footwork and lateral movement is his major downfall. Moving Dane Rogers to DL, and the addition of Sterling Johnson and Christian Wilkins gives us good depth. I don't see anyone standing in Wilkins way once he arrives in the summer though.

he looked pretty raw in the bowl game, made a couple of nice plays, then would get just swallowed up on a bunch of others. One in particular he got knocked on his rear and OKh's RB converted a 3rd and 12.

I noticed that from the bowl game, and it really concerned me. I'm confident in Reader and Watkins, but we need a couple more bodies to give us good rotation. Hopefully guys like Wilkins and Johnson will push him a bit.

he should be fine, he just had so much in front of him last year. Now that he is getting more first team reps, there should be a lot more improvement. He is close.

Not that you wanna build a case based solely on one video of one rep doing one drill, but Dye looks super quick in the RB drill at the end making cuts under the shutes. Pretty quick for a big back. Hopefully they can teach him to be patient. We really are loaded with a STUD on the way.

Re: Awesome video from practice...

Mar 13, 2015, 11:21 AM

I agree. Dye owned those shutes. IMO he will start this season with Gallman the next man up. Gallman is starting to develop quite nicely, but no one is a pure back like Dye. He is the total package and I'm glad to see him get healthy and back into playing shape. I say Dye and Gallman come out the gates first, with Fuller and Brooks taking over afterwards. We may just break the scoreboard in 2015 with all the talent we put on the field.

Dye and Gallman

Mar 13, 2015, 7:23 PM

I agree with you 100%. I think that is 1 and 2, with 2 (Gallman) being the change up pitch. Brooks and Fuller will get plenty of reps too. I like Choice too, but he's got his work cut out to get to the rotation before Fuller and Brooks. JMO...we'll see.

looks pretty good as well

I agree, he is my breakout player on D this year. Lord knows we need depth on the DL, and I think he can step into Corey Crawford's role and compete with Dodd. With Huggins and Lawson opposite, those are very serviceable duos.
