Interesting since few thought he could get anything close to what the Browns paid DW ($230M over 5 years).

No one doubted that Lamar could get more than Watson's $230M. No one thought he could get it fully guaranteed like Watson did. And he didn't, Lamar's guaranteed money is at $185M.

I was thinking it was some of both***

It was only ever the guaranteed money. Lamar was all but guaranteed to be able to score a total value greater than Watson's, even without an agent.

Sounds like a bad list. What metrics is it using?

Apr 28, 2023, 12:10 PM

Lamar has had one of the most pathetic supporting casts of skill players in the league to support him and he's still managed to carry that offense. Mahomes is in his own tier at the top, but I would have Jackson in that next group with Burrow, Allen, Herbert, (maybe) Hurts.

I think I just found the list you referenced and it has guys like Geno Smith and Jared Goff ahead of Jackson. That's absurd.

Search NFL qb rankings. The NFL does a list every year.

A list based on what? Opinion? QBR? Completion %? Yards?

There are lots of ways to make a list. Lamar's value goes WAY beyond passing stats. He's the most prolific running QB in NFL history.

The fact that Lemur got this contract, when he can't even

complete a season without getting hurt, just proves how quarterback starved the NFL really is right now. And the sad part is, if teams were giving their draft picks at QB any time to mature and get better, they wouldn't have to keep drafting another one about every other year. The Ravens have obviously gone the other way. They are BEYOND All-In on Lemur. Butt, that contract almost guarantees they will not be able to afford to put good players around him, and still stay under the salary cap going forward. So, in the long run, they are hurting their franchise. Butt, hey, who cares about that pesky WINNING thing, anyway?

Just shows people do stupid things when it comes to athletes, sports and billionaires!

The JHurts contract "hurt" the Ravens negotiating stance.***

At this point, why not?

Dude is clearly one of the best in the business, ever really. He ain't the most down to earth kind of guy, but dang he has an unprecedented skillset. He's really the prototype for what QBs need to be in the future.. capable of running and throwing at a very high level. The RPO is the way to win nowadays, and Lame Are is the best in the business, ever really.

Gimme Lame Are and 23 other dudes with the RPO and I think I can beat you. Hey, it works on Xbox so.. lol.

Seriously, the dude, even with a name like Lame Are, is worth every penny of that and if the Ravens want to keep him they better pay him.

Yes.
