Anyone travel up i26 towards Johnson city?

Apple Maps says straight through except a little detour in Erwin, (supposed to be local traffic only). Google maps is making it a long 3.5 hours from Greenville. Just curious if anyone has been that way and what their experience was?

Two of my friends that live nearby say that I-26 is still closed from the state line to nearly Johnson City.

I have not personally been there.

Yes I have back & forth between SC and Tennessee that way a couple of times. I-26 is closed in NC at Exit 3 (3 miles from NC-TN line). You get off and take Asheville Highway toward Tennessee and can eventually reconnect to the I-26 until the collapsed section near Erwin.

Get off I-26 again at Temple Hill Road exit (you have to, like at NC exit 3) and then take Temple Hill Road to Sandy Bottom to Jackson-Love highway that brings you into the edge of Erwin. Checks the maps before you go, as sometimes one of the connector roads is closed for clean-up/maintenance and you have take another connector. It has been open since 3 days after the storm, though, if you know how to do it.
