Between him and Mike Johnson sending Republicans on vacation to avoid a vote on releasing The Epstein Files people are seeing this for what it really is.

He called this. Give the shut down 6 months and watch the Trump administration collapse on itself.

Interesting to see folks arguing over who this makes look worse. All of Congress should be voted out.

That is one way to avoid paying them while the shutdown is ongoing I guess. If the FEDS would upgrade their tech and computers we would need a whole lot less federal employees anyway. Maybe this is the start. That would be a smart way to shrink the federal government.

Not saying that is the plan as this administration seems to lack the ability for details.

Actually, you did say that.
It's not smart, but everybody understands that it's part of the plan.

The firings are straight out of Project 2025. SO I did not think that needed mentioned. Non payment is a bonus for those in favor of it. Seriously though the FEDS are running archaic software and computers, it is a wonder anything runs correctly.

The sad part is you think you're making a critique of the government

but you're just pointing out why Republicans are bad at being in charge of the government.
The Republicans spent years preventing the IRS from upgrading its software (because it would catch tax cheats easier). Then the Democrats finally passed the funds to upgrade the IRS' systems and as soon as the Republicans got back in charge they cut that funding.
Your posting just highlights the only way you can actually be Republican is if you're 1) ignorant , 2) intentionally ignorant, or 3) just lying about reality.

Lawmakers, in the second and final round of government spending bills for the rest of fiscal 2024, plan to cut $20 billion in funds the IRS got in the Inflation Reduction Act to rebuild its workforce and modernize its legacy IT. The agency still has roughly $60 billion to meet its modernization goals.
Also go back a bit and see the TMF and MGT, both signed in 2017-2018.

All the Dems had to do was sign a CR that was exactly the same as the last one.

shows the people that he's the one who has the power to end this shutdown and he's choosing to fire people instead of negotiate with the Democrats.
Has to suck to be a Republican house member right now.

No reason to negotiate, either vote to open up or shut down the government. The majority of Democrats want the government shut down. Has to suck to be the party of litigating attorneys
