To that end, it's my understanding that beating UNC tomorrow means nothing, while losing to UNC means the death of everything that hasn't already died up to now.
Is this about the gist of it?

Really? If you are ok with the current trajectory of the program you really do need to go pull for the Coots.
I think we win tomorrow, bit we will see what happens the remainder of the season.
There have been many of times over the last decade, when I laughed at the “eye test”. So far this year, my eyes see a below average team. Probably the worst since the West era. That is how bad we have looked.

the main benefit of getting a win tomorrow is to change the momentum within the locker room.
Losing to UNC this entire team would quit, and Furman would be the only game we would be competitive in.
Getting a win tomorrow gets the players feeling good, with next week being on the road again to a very beatable BC.
This team needs to string a bunch of wins together and salvage this season... or they can just quit and be one of the most over hyped teams in history.

a win, even a large one, won't mean much because of how bad UNC is.
But a loss pretty much signals that we're this year's '24 FSU and Furman might be the only win left on the schedule.
