I cannot f’ing send how the CFP isn’t really an ESPN thing, yet every year they toy with the scheduling.. make no mistakes, ESPN owns the CFP, they just halfway pretend they don’t.

They own the TV rights. It’s not any different than Clemson not scheduling their own football game times.

TV rights is fine, but they shouldn’t be able to dictate withholding the results..
Let’s say CNN buys the tv rights to the presidential election - that doesn’t give them the right to withhold news until they decide.. NBC has the rights to ND football games, that can’t keep me from following it in real-time elsewhere.
At the least, the CFP results should be published at the same time on their website. ESPN can then talk about it whenever they want.

That’s what they say.. I’ve watched it every week for years - it’s always “we just got the results in. You’re seeing them at the same time we are..” - they constantly say that, week after week.

Yes, because you are seeing them at the same time as the panel member on screen. But it's not live. They are presented to ESPN in advance, kept under lock and key. Graphics are updated, speaker notes are created, decisions are made on what order to release the rankings in, etc.
Same thing as the NCAA bracket. "Let's get our first look at the East region"...then bang a well formatted, clearly identified bracket is placed on screen. Because it was already provided to ESPN...just not to the on-screen commentators.

They moved it to the SEC Network to air first there amd then the rest of us can see it on ESPN after they get the first glance!!!
