When did Trump become RADICALIZED?

We were not this crazy nation before he was President. Did MAGA radicalize him or did he radicalize MAGA?

There's a synergy between them that emboldens both to be even more extreme.

The confrontational nature of MAGA is not something I've seen since the fight against equality in the 60s.

Come on Man!
"I really want to blow up the white house" "No justice no peace" "Pigs in a blanket, blah blah blah" "Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd" ... ...
You are clueless.

Up until say 2010, most political leaders were probably playing within the 35 yards lines. That left a lot of people on the edges removed from the table. Trump came along and gave a lot of people inside the 35 yard line of right wing thinking a more or less a consolidated voice. I think it was always there. Steve Bannon pretty much said as so.
I do think there is a little of the tail wagging the dog. Trump is willing to reward his voters with pro-life judges and doesn’t tout the Covid vaccine. Not touting the Covid vaccine is the only time Trump has ignored self-aggrandizement on anything ever.

Plus he was on watch while Crimea was attacked. Biden had our soldiers killed in Afghanistan withdrawal and then was so weak Ukraine was invaded.
But it’s alllllll Trumps fault.

“Obummer caused all of this, and he’s still doing it“
That is the dumbest thing conservatives repeat. Did it bother you that he was presidenting while black? Elections have consequences line upset you? He didn’t brag about grabbing pu$$ies, ##### p r on stars and pay them off, and lie with every drawn breath. The problem came from the GOP dismissing all the poor behavior, decisions, hateful/stupid shid trump said. Morals out the window. I left the party because of that crap.

I think it was the 'fundamentally transforming the United States' line. The 'is it cuz he's black', is definitely an old tired line.

Why would one generic line upset the masses? I dont even remember it said.

Was it because he was the first black president or because he wanted universal healthcare or raise taxes or something? Because it would be true if it involved either of the first two.
The demonization of Obama is just wrong. Well educated, well intentioned man raised his family in the White House, had a dog and a cat, did his best to get better at his job every day, and did. I didn’t vote for him first time around, but I never felt threatened by anything Obama said or did.

I don't think Obama was a bad person. Probably better from a person level than most of the modern Presidents. My biggest issue with Obama was his push towards socialism. Now, Obama didn't get to accomplish a lot of what he wanted to - thankfully.
Not saying you're doing this, but typically when I hear 'is it cuz he's black' sort of argument, it's because someone is trying to control a conversation in a certain way and doesn't have anything to do with the person they're talking to being racist.

I'm definitely not trying to say it didn't happen. If people say they heard it, then they probably heard, and I'm not super shocked that some people would have said stuff like that. And I wasn't on this forum back then and lived in some pretty racially diverse cities, so maybe I just didn't encounter it. Maybe it's an age thing. But man, where in the heck was it where people were dropping all these N- bombs about Obama???

I'm not sure the last time I actually heard a white person drop an N-bomb. It's been a loooong time. But, apparently this is common place in some circles. I grew up in Murderburg and that's definitely the dirty South and have lived in the QC for a while now, and that's kinda like the South (at least it is on a the map).

Overturning RvW was the court correcting something it didn't really have power to decide in the first place.
MAGA and woke are terms that are thrown around that don't really have much meaning to me.

I wasn't around here at that time. But I can seriously say I heard one person use an actual racial slur against Obama. And, I heard no one in the mass media use a racial slur against Obama. Unlike the use of the term Uncle Tim for Tim Scott, that I have heard and seen in the mass media.
Like I said earlier, it may be a matter of where you were living at the time and who you were hanging out with at the time.

What was more prevalent, that I saw, was people calling other people racist because they didn't agree with/like Obama. And, it is a fact that there are people who will call people racist as a mechanism to try to control a conversation or create a narrative. Now, that being said, I also know that there are real racists out there, and I wouldn't be shocked if those people used racial slurs against Obama. But, it was not in my purview. Now, I was living in Chicago when Obama was a senator in IL. I was actually so impressed by him (not to be confused with agreeing with him) that I told my Dad that this guy may very well be the next President. He thought I was crazy that I thought an unknown with the name Barack Hussein Obama would become President. I moved to the QC at the time he was running for President (pretty racially diverse city). So, I guess I missed a lot of that.
I mean, the country can't be super racist like some people try to say. The guy pretty handily won two elections.

I think a lot of it is part of a (maybe an Internet driven) cultural mentality that goes something like this - If I disagree with you, then I must demonize you to make my position seem more righteous. Now, THAT is becoming some old tired bull poop. Not usually, but I have to admit that I have been guilty of that on occasion.

I don't think most of his policies were particularly radical and every couple of days we will have a weirdo leftist post about how he isn't even a conservative, he governed just like all the other Republicans, etc so its obvious that yall need to pick a lane. He can't be both a dangerous radical and someone who governs just like everybody else dependent on whatever mood you're in at the time. It you think secure borders, not transing kids, less govt control over our lives, and that lawfare is deplorable are radicalized concepts then, newsflash, you're the radical.

He's been in the con artist business since the 70's. He's been ###### women for decades & such. Remember when he had a public spat with Rosie O'Donnell? He showed how ugly he could get in that little episode.
Politically, he moved to the right after Obama became POTUS. The Birther stuff was the first time I ever paid attention to what he was saying in the political sphere. That was the first indication that he was now casting his lot with the authoritarian right-wing.

For those who start wealthy and become famous.
But hey, if you don't think Trump's a con artist, then congratulations. You're the mark.

job at calling out their craziness and they stayed mostly in their bubble with other crazy people. When Trump came in and brought his crazy to the party, the crazy voters felt comfortable coming out in the open.

Society had kept in check for a while because such behavior was unacceptable. He had learned enough of them loved him through his dumb TV show and his pro wrestling appearances. He played a con to tap into their weak-mindedness and gullibility, and it ballooned into something even he probably didn't expect. But he gladly embraced it.
So he unleashed America's radicalism to the point where the imbeciles think they're the normal ones now. And he's just riding the wave. So no, they didn't radicalize him, and he just simply made their radicalization united.
Remember when riding a tank with a helmet and a goofy smile could sink your presidential campaign? Or an excited scream on stage? Or an affair?
Now you can be a sexual predator (and likely a pedophile) who states out loud he'll be a dictator and the amoral people of America flock to it.

so many people were about his in your face approach to politics. He soon figured out that he could say just about anything and a large chunk of his base would not only support him, but enthusiastically support him.
He tapped into a general lack of trust in politicians, as well as a frustration with how government operates. And he took it to the extreme.
His supporters believe anything he tells them, and he knows it - and uses it to his advantage.
"The election was stolen!" --> millions of Americans now believe this.
"The media can't be trusted." --> millions of Americans now view most media as liars.
"Putin is a good guy." --> millions of Americans now believe he's not a ruthless dictator.
Etc.
It's cult-like, and it's scary.

when the echo chamber starting telling you he is radicalized.

I decided on my own that Trump had become radicalized.

Initially, he was a guy who spoke his mind and stood up for Americans.
He gradually became a guy who became more about himself than the American people. He started talking about stolen elections, protesting the election, and using the government to get what he wanted.
In fact, if you listen to him, he still talks about using the office of the president to enact revenge.
These are radical ideas. If you can't see that, you're part of the problem.
