Appliance repair.net. Pls to be providing advice for me to ignore.

Washing machine is not draining, and I am pretty sure the pump isn't working (I don't hear it kick on when it should).
I've made sure internal and external drain hose are clear.
Next steps on appliance repair site say test pump with multimeter and then replace if no continuity.
I have no multimeter, don't know how to use it.
Replacement pump is $125.
Do I buy $25ish multimeter that I may never use again just to test?
Or say fuggit and order pump with fingers crossed that is the fix.
I'm leaning toward just replace and hope.
Any advice, jokes, insults or taunts?

Could be pump or control board.

Life is full of tools that aren’t worth owning and learning to use. A multimeter isn’t one of them. You’ll likely use it again and they’re cheap as you said. I’d run to harbor freight and get one. YouTube will show you how to use it in about 3 minutes.

stick one bare foot in a bucket of salty water, lick the index finger on both hands, touch one contact with each finger. If you don't deaded, replace the pump.

Just shoot 3 or 4 .30-06 rounds into the tub and through the floor and voilà...YOU'RE DRAINING!
