made him look foolish. He talked about how coaching really isn't that difficult and doesn't take up too much of his time so that he can continue coaching. He then talked about how his daughter comes to every game, so he doesn't feel the need to move to be near her, and then he talked about all the great coaches he has that are ready to step in and take over. That is what media days was about for SOS. He' still trying to fool the recruits.

What kills me is so many fans believe he actually had a change of heart and plans on sticking around 4 or 5 more years. Of course he changed his comments around after he saw what was happening with recruiting. He had to, the ship was sinking fast. Unfortunately it kept on sinking and is still taking on water. I mean fortunately, not unfortunately.

There are those who believe ...and I am not able to point out my sources ....that think Spurrier is torpedoing what he has built , because he just can't stand the idea of any successor coming in and winning right away . Now I'm no conspiratorialist , but you have to say an egomaniac like Spurrier ? It could have legs. Just saying .

With his ego I wouldn't put it past him. Never thought of it that way.

South Carolina has a lot pushing against them:
1) They aren't the Alabama of the East.
2) They aren't a school like the entire ACC (That includes FSU and Miami because they are really good academic schools)
3) No significant NFL production in Spurrier's tenure.
4) No "trophies" of any kind (SEC or National Championships) in Spurrier's tenure
5) Only had 3 double-digit win seasons in Spurrier's tenure.
6) Followed up a preseason national ranking with a 7-6 season.
Add on his comments and ask yourself as a parent, would you want your son to play for a team with a resume like that?
